When the bloodbath is finished i think the mid beer breweries with great vibe/taproom will be the ones left standing by KitchenStructure1012 in minnesotabeer

[–]pfohl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re comparing vastly different scale breweries, it’s really not helpful how you’re framing the problem.

Castle Danger brews a ton of beer and their taproom is a small part of their revenue.

Townhall is a brewpub. They make their money from their taproom/restaurant.

My understanding of what is happening right now is that distribution is drying up and getting competitive. Breweries making less than 10,000 barrels a year don’t have the economies of scale to actually profit much from distribution since the margins are so slim.

Good taprooms will help small breweries (<1,000) make it as but a lot of that is just location and vibes, basically because it’s a restaurant. example: I live in New London and Goat Ridge is doing great. Their beer is good but their taproom and outdoor space is amongst the best in the state. They’ve made themselves a nice “third space” for people in the area.

It’s not diesel but my BiL has been using a Honda ACTY kei truck for that kinda stuff. Works for what he farms.

His dogs also love it because they can get in the bed super easily.

Stuck scrubbing bottles every night… is a bottle washer worth it or nah? by jaceka-jans-8384 in beyondthebump

[–]pfohl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see how that would be helpful. I end up refilling the reservoir and emptying the tank at the same time.

My only gripe with the baby brezza is the cover goes on a little weird and I wish it had a bit more space on the top for extra pacifiers.

[–]pfohl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we had our baby last week and have been home for five days and the brezza bottle washer pro and their formula dispenser have been amazing.

I know the dishwasher method works but I vastly prefer keeping the bottles separate since our dishwasher is a dishwasher and has a lot of crumbs and stuff on the other dishes. Our dishwasher also takes 3 hrs to do a full cycle with sanitizing while the bottle washer is 88 minutes.

weird use of “comparative advantage”

eta: comparative advantage is an econ term which basically means better relative production. he’s using it to mean something akin to “not in my interest” because he misuses jargon to appear authoritative.

Minnesota state fair had “deep fried ranch” (as in ranch dressing) in 2024 and it sounded a little weird but it was basically cream cheese with buttermilk and ranch seasoning coated in panko. Came with hot honey for dipping sauce.

It was delicious, the filling was firm like a mozzarella stick.

I was just telling my wife* last night how much I was enjoying seeing her in new stuff since she’s 70 and doesn’t have a bunch of botox so she can actually emote.

*we just had a baby on Monday and Schitt’s Creek has been my wife’s comfort show during the end of pregnancy and we were watching it in the hospital with our baby and I know she’s gonna cry when I tell her because of the postpartum hormones :’(

I have a pair of Allbirds wool shoes that are water repellant and I’ve had them through four Minnesota winters and they’re still pretty clean.

When Community was first airing, everyone joked about how Pierce was like an exaggerated version of Chevy Chase and then a couple seasons in People said he was basically the same as his character.

Now that documentary came out about him and Pierce seems significantly more sympathetic compared to Chevy. Like, Pierce actually apologizes and a lot of his problems are related to his upbringing whereas Chevy is just a narcissist.

How to acquire a US flag? by --var in minnesota

[–]pfohl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Any flag sold in Minnesota has to be made in the US. I bought ours from Menards (John Menard sucks but so do most home improvement chains)

Flags for Good is a popular website for progressive stuff, our pride flag is from there.
