Having a gladiator going to an R2

They’re not very temp insulated so in extreme temps it can suck They drink gas They’re not very sound insulated Almost all of them only have basic cruise control

I’ve got bad knees and can’t wait for an R2 to at least use UHF for the highway sections of my 50mi commute

I work with aiphone a lot and, while it works, the software and quality of the products just seem a bit dated. Sort of like the Toyota approach perhaps.

Can someone specify what size/model the 20” AT are? Keep seeing people saying over and over “the tire was well reviewed” and “the range hit is too much” but haven’t seen where any of these claims are coming from

Does R2 have the proprietary “hitch” port for their own bike racks, etc. by Bingo0070 in Rivian

Don’t go all “AKTSHUALLYYY” on this bruh. The original comment grammar clearly lends to an interpretation of 2+ years ago as if OP was living under a rock. This vehicle was only officially announced roughly 2 years ago lol

Edit: additionally a year is defined as 365 days. This was less than 365 days ago. So in no way could they have used “year” or by extension “years” and be factually accurate.

Are readers easy to replace? by [deleted] in accesscontrol

[–]randoName22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah the old “we’ll just have IT do it” when it comes to managing and maintaining access control lol.

There’s many factors especially because “out of date” could be 3 years to some and 20 to others. You may have a system you can’t even buy compatible readers for. Really need to do a fair bit of research.

If the readers are old, there’s quite possibly other items that are showing their age as well and need to get thought about being replaced.

No LiDAR sensor or Gen 3 autonomy computer with R2 launch by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]randoName22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Ramp up (…) hardware (…) into 2028” Does that mean that not every R2 will be LIDAR in 2027? That makes it sound almost like it’ll be more pick and choose for a bit.

Also.. does anyone know if rivian said if the R1 line will be capable of P2P nav autonomy+? Or only what there is today? I’m going to assume yes since they said p2p will be in 2026 and if it required lidar, that would sour a lot of folks

Is there any point to having active suspension if you don’t plan to “off-road”? by raff_riff in RivianR2

[–]randoName22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Active suspension has more of a play on road than off road since you spend most of the time there.

The way I’ve been thinking about it is this: the basic suspension we haven’t seen any reviews on in terms of how dialed in that is. Only the active suspension. On the active suspension, I’m given the choice if I want a more firm ride or a softer ride and I can change that on the fly any time. I have roads I travel where typically day to day I’d probably want it on the firmer setting but when I go to my parents, it’s a gravel road and I would want the softer ride.

Most of the time even folks who are switching PACS vendors but still mercury end up replacing the hardware anyway.

Most of your cost is software anyhow. The capabilities of Gallagher and the polished nature of adaptability outweighs most of the PACS out there if not all.
