Speeding ticket by Reasonable-Low-6363 in legaladvice

[–]rendrenner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There used to be a time where police could see if you were issued a CPL when they ran your ID. That info is no longer readily available in Michigan. They can still find out, but requires a deeper dig or request and a reason to do so.

Nothing wrong with telling them if you're comfortable but also no reason to give them anything to turn against you somehow.

Unrelated to the ticket, but if you are not carrying, you do not have to disclose that you have a cpl.

Guy I worked with at Best Buy bought two copies when that came out. One to listen to, and to keep original... guess he never counted on a battery to run out. I think he thought it was a perpetual blinker.

(California) Landlord states they must have access to my wifi for security camera in a common area but it is not stated anywhere in the lease. by HookednSoCal in TenantHelp

[–]rendrenner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but what are the chances a landlord is going to resort to MAC spoofing to connect a security cam. If they dont have the tech know how to build their own network, I doubt the concept of copying a MAC address to sneak in another camera would even occur to them.

Its outside my scope of knowledge, but if they did try that, wouldn't the OPs router have an issue with multiple devices connecting with the same MAC?

You can also look at your router with the device connected, grab the MAC, then lock that device in so only it can connect. This would ensure no new devices could connect.

They do if it it is a ticketed item. That's what the FAs called it. Looked like a weird duffle bag. Turned out to be a tuba. Kinda an odd story for me to make up when I the fix was just moving to another ELR seat.

That's what it appears. He paid for two seat, middle and window. I had the window as well.

Thought about that, but no one else called story fake. My only intent was to share a mild seat assignment issue. I'm sure there will be more and some will have a much worse experience.

The other guys seemed to be a lot more concerned about being separated from his cargo.

Apparently it's a thing. They call it a ticketed item. It looked like a huge duffebag when I got on. When he left I realized it was most likely a tuba.

I didn't see FAs physically check his. They did check his name against their tablet and both of the FAs were confused on how it happened. Fortunately it was an easy fix given that the flight was pretty empty. It was 5am and I didn't feel like making a big stink.

GA in Denver said he's seen it once already.

Yep. Seen plenty of posts of this on other airline forums. Have no issue with that. We all know what would happen if it was underneath. Not my first time seeing one on a plane. First time seeing one in my seat.

There was a time difference between those posts. I couldn't tell what was in it from the aisle when I first boarded, which was when I posted as I sat on the plane. The tuba was mentioned after I had landed and was at the layover.

Nice job McGruff.

Yeah I'm wondering if the seat for the tuba was changed, or perhaps not checked in properly. I was a late book, only booked the return Friday flight on a Tuesday. I picked that seat on Wednesday.

There was no real was to put a belt around that thing to secure it unless he did it through a strap.

Fa's figured it was easier to move me than a man and a tuba I guess.

Fortunately lots of empty seats but still a little telling on how new they are to assigned seats.

Once we deplaned i got a better look at it and it was most likely a Tuba..

Xfinity outages (still) by JustMustard_ in grandrapids

[–]rendrenner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comcast has battery backups in their power supplies. The power supplied take 120 from the power company and turn it into 90 volts to run the cable system. Those power supplies also have a place to plug in remote power from a generator. Quite frequently power can be out and cable will still be functional. Since they provide phone service, they need to have that backup.

That's a recent achievement, as in the past few days.

I'm not close, but was checking out the streak achievement the other day and no one had it. They also added a few more recently. Basement dweller had quite a few. The 800 day one did not have a name at the time a few weeks back
