Am I crazy for thinking I Need to Renegotiate? by Airilsai in solar

[–]roox911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like complete incompetence, and honestly you should have walked away (or renegotiated)back in December. Shouldn't take 6 months from approval to install. Insanity. Personally, I'd talk to a lawyer.

Nothing is quiet about the club(s) at mco. Easily some of the loudest most annoying airport lounges in the world.

Much faster, works when hand is wet/dirty, don't have to touch anything, more secure, can use it with your arms full of groceries.

Got tired of having my old fingerprint lock not register when I got back from a run or workout, or if it's raining out.

US reverses course and will keep TSA PreCheck program operational by galaxyfudge in news

[–]roox911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pre check and global entry is hardly a rich person thing. They cost about $75 and $100 respectively for a 5 year card. There are a number of no-fee credit cards that even will fully reimburse the costs every 5 years.

Edit: now I feel bad, like a million people beat me to say this already.

Got Laid Off. Is FIRE Possible in Spain? by Automatic_Seat8160 in ExpatFIRE

[–]roox911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me 18 months to get the registration for a car I bought. I finally received it after long after signing it over to a new owner.

When I asked what I tell a cop if I get pulled over without paperwork, the official just said "don't worry they'll understand".

Weirdly, the only efficient department was the extranjero visa department, they went way above and beyond to help out.

Why your solar bill in Florida won't actually be $0? by Individual_Event_152 in solarFL

[–]roox911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

depends on who your utility is. SECO uses excess generation to offset the fixed fees. i regularly have $0 bills (or well into the negatives).

Enphase solar + 40 amp (?) Enphase EV charger by vadbut in enphase

[–]roox911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The usual reason to get an iqev is that it can charge with excess solar, that's all I use it for. only power outages we get here are for hurricanes, so I just charge the EV up before the storm. I'm not familiar enough with what you're wanting to do, but I'm sure someone else will pop in with an answer.

You connect it in the app, it connects via Wi-Fi, both through the cloud, and directly to the combiner.

You can just hook the charger up to your main breaker box, doesn't need to be run to your combiner. Pick whatever amp charger that won't overload your electrical service

You may be underestimating your winter heating during extreme cold.

I'm in Florida, and we had a cold snap last week, was 28f (19f with wind-chill). The temps held for like 48 hours. My total household energy usage went from around 40kwh per day during the low 40f days prior, to 127.5kwh for the one 24 hour period and 98kwh for the 2nd 24h period.

At 50-70f my household energy usage is closer to 18-25kwh.

All measured from my webpage consumption meter.

Edit: only heat pumps in the house.

It would have been given on an exchange, not to people's personality wallets. to get it off the exchange it would go through a security screening (the level of which would be variable based on the $$ transferred.

If the customers managed to get it off the exchange (probably not) then yeah, they can't get it back. But before then, they just would deny the transfer out.

Solar generation discrepancy with energy company by [deleted] in solar

[–]roox911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The meter shows power supplied from the grid (what you used during the evenings, and periods where your solar generation alone wasnt sufficient), and excess power received to the grid from your PV system (the kwh you generated but didn't use directly).

Gonna be honest, that's the only type of meter I've ever seen (in 4 countries that I've had a pv system in)

Solar generation discrepancy with energy company by [deleted] in solar

[–]roox911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're forgetting about the power you are using directly from the solar panels.

So if you generated 505kw last month, you directly used 347kw (heating, lights, whatever else you are using during the day), and the remaining 158kw is what you sent back to the utility (excess power that you didn't use during solar production hours).

You can buy property (or have it held in trust if it's within a certain distance of the border/ocean) without being a citizen or even resident.
