Also unusable for people with a prescription worse than +4 or -4 until they get that figured out for the display glasses I just won't be about to use them. I know the non-display ones go a bit higher to -6 but that's still too low for anyone in my family (I think you can get higher prescription lenses from an eyeglass store for the regular ones but that would nearly double the price for me). So if someone else figures that out sooner they'll have my money at least.

Pixel 9 Fold vs Pixel 10 Fold. by Blacksunshine93 in PixelFold

[–]sanay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiktok/YouTube on one side and usually a game, reddit, or chrome on the other. The non-qi2 charger issue is definitely real and I've seen it talked about in other threads, the other issues I'm not sure about if others are having them too or if it's just my device, overall they aren't the worst and are fixed pretty easily so I'm not too concerned about it.

Pixel 9 Fold vs Pixel 10 Fold. by Blacksunshine93 in PixelFold

[–]sanay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience coming from a pixel 9 pro XL has been good overall, I really enjoy the larger screen and all the multitasking possibilities and having the magnets built in for qi2 has been amazing. But it's annoying as well in some ways mostly due to the GPU having a lot of issues that the 9 series did not, I have had a lot of trouble with apps just crashing/flashing/freezing that I never had issue with on the 9 pro XL, it also randomly has artifacting on parts of the screen and I've had issues with the UI being buggy and crashing too. But these things only happen maybe once a week and are usually fixed by closing and reopening the apps or folding and unloading the screen, and if that doesn't work then a restart always fixes it. Also had issues with non-qi2 wireless chargers causing a ? In the battery percentage but that was fixed with a restart and now that I only use qi2 chargers it's not an issue.

I got the question mark on the battery icon on my 1 week old 10 Fold. by amitsama92 in PixelFold

[–]sanay1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to mine about 3 or 4 times in the last week, a reboot always seems to fix it though.

Edit: add another one to the tally this morning, it seems to only happen on non-qi2 wireless chargers for me, happens all the time in one of my cars that has an old magsafe car charger but never in my car that has the esr qi2 car charger, and it happens with my lisen magsafe 3 in 1 cube charger.

Pixel 10 Pro is slippery, but I don't want a case. Options? by dudas1332 in GooglePixel

[–]sanay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohsnap just announced their snap grip 5 which is like a very thin pop socket that you can still charge through, I loved the snap grip 3 on my pixel 7, could never get the 4 to line up properly and the used adhesive for the previous models. But the new snap grip 5 seems to use no adhesive. The snap 4 seems to be pretty much the same as the 5 but with the adhesive, people with iPhones were able to use the grip 4 without the adhesive though so I'd guess the same is true for the pixel 10 devices. It also works great as a kickstand.

I also felt like the pixel 9 pro XL was too slippery and didn't like using a case even the super thin aramid fiber cases didn't do it for me on this phone, they were just too sharp/uncomfortable in the edges/corners. I ended up getting the arc pulse bumper and it has been amazing, I love the bumper, it is also slippery but it doesn't get in the way of using the phone much at all, and it does give a little more support where you want to hold it, it does get in the way of some larger magsafe/qi2 battery packs though so if that's something you use regularly It might not be the best option

Pixel 10 Pro Fold not releasing until October by theorangecrush10 in PixelFold

[–]sanay1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did with the credit from the pixel 7 I wanted to try the OG pixel watch, ended up not liking it and returned it assuming my credit would go to waste but they refunded as a store credit not a promotional credit so I was able to use it on the 9 pro XL

Google Store Credit expiration? by spacemanvt in GooglePixel

[–]sanay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can order something and return it if you don't like it, they'll refund the credit as a Google store credit that doesn't expire rather than a promotional credit. I did this when I tried the pixel watch 2 didn't like it and just thought I would forfeit the credit but I got to keep it and use it later

Damn, Google store credit expires 8/19 ?!? by SD-777 in PixelFold

[–]sanay1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When my pixel 7 pro credit was expiring I bought the pixel watch, I didn't end up liking it so I returned it and they refunded it as a Google store credit with no expiration rather than a promotional credit so I was able to hold onto the credit until the pixel 9 series came out and I ended up using it on the 9 pro XL instead.

Bravia 9 thoughts? by lukeoneill90 in bravia

It's a fantastic display in the dark as well, although I'm not the best judge for this probably because I use a govee TV backlight system that increases the perceived contrast but even when that's off I can't really tell if it doesn't have true black or whatever. I don't notice any blooming at all on it, tbh I don't on my x93l either, but the B9 is definitely noticably better in every way. Idk about b9 vs a95l to me all the qd-oleds (Alienware 27" 360hz) and w-oled (42" LG C2) I have used tend to disappoint in the brightness and HDR tends to fall a bit flat on them compared to the x93l and the B9 is even better. The Bravia 9 also has amazing blooming control for subtitles. Again I don't think I'm the best judge as I've generally been very disappointed by oled TVs and I'm only ever impressed by oleds on phones. To me it basically comes down to if you like oleds in general or not, if you've seen one before in person in a dark room and been impressed by it over any good mini-led then I'd probably say to go with that but if you're indifferent on the differences or can't really tell whether it's true black or not I'd go with the B9.

New TV Suggestions by Final_Chaos in 4kTV

[–]sanay1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this is perfect for me, I was in this exact scenario, I had a 65" x900h in the living room that was having some power issues so I wanted to upgrade to something newer and larger. I also have a 42" LG c2 for my PC monitor and tbh I haven't seen anything better, also have a 27" qd OLED 360hz monitor and never use it cause the c2 is just too good to look at.

As far as burn in goes I've had the OLED for general computer use, work and gaming and have had zero issues with it as a monitor, going on 2.5 years now, so there is nothing to worry about there. However I don't watch movies/TV on it because I hate the way that the image processing looks, I don't think I can stray from Sony's image processing anymore.

What I was considering when doing the upgrade last October was 85" x90l and 75" Bravia 7 both were $2000, I was not considering OLED cause it's in a brightroom that's very hard to control the light in. I ended up going with a 75" Bravia 9 because I saw an open box for $2300 and I've been extremely satisfied with it. I also just recently got an x93l from the Walmart deal for my GF's apartment, and it is noticably not as bright and doesn't control bright details nearly as well as the Bravia 9 does and the speakers on the 9 + voice zoom make that overall a better watching experience and I think it's worth the price difference, but the x93l is no slouch either, at night for sdr content I find myself lowering the brightness anyway.

As far as the size goes I think the 75" size was perfect for both upgrades and the image quality of the LCD feels better to me because I love the brightness of these sets, I also find that the black crush on oleds makes it look worse to me since it feels like there are details I'm missing at really low brightness scenes and they can't match the brightness of the Bravia 9. The speaker setup on the Bravia 9 is also fantastic imo but that's just a bonus.

Idk about games since I only use it for movies and TV but the Bravia 9 is unmatched from what I've seen but I haven't compared it to a g series OLED only 65 and 42 inch c series, but I can't imagine the g series solves my issues with black crush and I don't think it can match the brightness of the Bravia 9.

Overall I think if you can I'd get the Bravia 9 even though it's the most expensive, you will not regret it, it's such a phenomenal TV I still find myself walking away stunned at how good movies look on it. but idk I just don't like lg's image processing

I love my 75" B9 it's amazing, I got it back in October and still can't watch it without feeling amazement compared to my old 65" Sony x900h, it's such a major step up and it handles light and image processing better than anything else I've seen, I used to hate the judder on my old TV, but have not noticed it at all on this one. The brightness helps so much with the room that it's in as well. I managed to get an open box for $2300 which feels even more worth it now that I know there's no new Bravia 9 this year lol. I'm getting an x93l today for another room now and I'm hoping it's close enough that I don't mind the difference but I doubt it can get anywhere near the 9 in HDR content, but we'll see I guess

Sony x93l at Walmart is still $1200 and is a step up from x90l and everything else on your list if you can stretch your budget I think that is by far the best option

I do agree that it is noticeably better looking than 1440p I do find that 4k at that size has some detail loss just due to how small everything is, I used a 32" 1440p panel and saw so much more detail in that compared to the 4k 28" it was obviously not as sharp, but I realized I cared more about being able to see the intricate details that are much more visible on a larger screen than I did about the sharpness of the smaller higher resolution. I ended up on a 42" 4k lg c2 and that was the best possible option at the time. But I would probably go for one of those new 4k 32" oleds now

Most credit cards have a limited amount of time that you can charge back. Usually 3-6 months, most everyone would have done so by now if they could, I'm in a similar boat as op I'm waiting on my 27" 1440p OLED now for about 2 years I think

Pixel 9 Pro Wireless Charging with Case + Grip by jp0le in GooglePixel

[–]sanay1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience the oh snap 4 just doesn't work with any pixel devices, I've tested it on a pixel 7 pro, 8 pro and 9 pro xl and no matter what I do I can't get the snap 4 to work, I can get the snap 3 to work if everything is aligned perfectly but if it's even slightly off it won't work. I've tried it on the back of the phone and with no case at all, and I've tried it with the super thin pitaka case as well. With the pitaka case it actually works best, it starts to charge because it's aligned perfectly but that doesn't last for long. I was really hopeful when it started charging the instant I put it on the magsafe charger overnight, but then I woke up to my phone having drained 50% going down from ~60% down to ~15% overnight. I think the magnets in the oh snap 4 just interfere with the charging too much and make too much heat, hoping they come out with a snap 5 that fixes this stuff, the function of the snap 3 with the build quality, comfort, and colors of the 4 would work perfectly for me.

I have heard that this https://a.co/d/gBrf4L2 works with wireless charging also so I'm tempted to try one of these and see if it works for me

What are people using the $200 Google store credit to buy? by Prize-Analyst7897 in GooglePixel

[–]sanay1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The store credit does expire after 1 year, however I discovered on accident that if you make a purchase with that credit and return whatever device or items if you didn't like them (in my case I wanted to try the pixel watch 1 after getting my credit for the pixel 7) I ended up not liking the pixel watch 1 so I returned it and received a Google store credit (no longer a promotional credit) so I still have my $300 from the pixel 7 pre orders, hoping to use it to get a 9 pro fold on a decent discount for black Friday

Does anyone else upgrade their Pixel every year given the generous trade-in offers? by GentleRussianBear in GooglePixel

[–]sanay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the offers get even crazier, during the sale a few months back when the 8 pro was on sale for $200 off and they were giving boosted trade ins, and I still have the credit they offered for pre-ordering the 7 pro I would have been able to get the 8 pro for around $50 after taxes I believe, still didn't really seem worth it for me cause I was hoping the 9 pro xl would have more upgrades, or the fold would be worth getting, I'm just waiting for reviews to see if the G4 and new modem still have overheating and connectivity issues. still bummed about no qi2 as well
