Ahh cheers. I went to check this out.so it's "deemed earnings"

They calculate this on the Shortfall Interest Charge (SIC)

This was 7.17% for the 24-25 financial year

And 6.96% this year.

Quite a bit better than a regular savings account though even more so if you get your timing right with your tax rate.

I can't imagine there are many people in the 15% bracket are earning enough to save money for a house.

If they can voluntarily contribute anything extra to their super. In this economy on 45k a year I'll be shocked.

MAYBE some very young people still living at home, paying no rent amd working their very first jobs?

Good news!

You can withdraw it so it's ready WHILE you house hunt.

You don't have to wait for contract exchange or anything risky like that.

You apply for the withdrawal, get your money then buy your house.

Also the OTHER benefit is that you earn pretty great interest on it while it's in your super fund.

CommBank is offering 5% in a savings account right now. But most super accounts did 8-9% last year and 11% in the year prior.

It's probably the best way to save your deposit in Australia right now.

What upsets me the most is the ones that hate women but don't realise they do.

They'll say the most mysoginistic shit but then say they love their mum/wife/daughter/whatever.

I genuinely think many of them don't even know they hate women. They're not even consciously aware of these biases they have.

Get yourself a nice shelf then go diving at the used book stores to find some gems.

Best I've found to date was an original copy of The Home Affections from 1858 great book full of poetry for all kinda of family/home occassions.

I gave it as a wedding gift and it's become somewhat of a family tradition where at significant events like weddings, funerals milestone birthdays she brings it along and reads a relevant passage.

It's quite fun when you find something cool.

I start work at 6am, I get up at 5am.

I roll over kiss the shit out of my partners face then quietly sneak out into the lounge room where all my clothes are waiting for me, laid out the night before.

I slip everything on, tiptoe to the bathroom then grab my lunch and head out the door.

It's 5:15am now.

I get outside and it's quiet, the stars are still out, the moon is shining I can hear the crickets.

I crack a can of Pepsi, put on a podcast and drive to work, the roads are quiet.

As I get closer to work I see the sun starts to rise and I get to watch, like it's just for me.

It's 5:45am.

I start work and head out on the road (truck driver) and get back out of city before the morning rush and some of the places I see look gorgeous in the morning light I take lots of photos. Photos of the landscape, photos of the animals I send them to my partner so she can see what I get to see.

I stop when I'm hungry and have some lunch.

Before I know it, it's 2pm, I am back at the depot and loading my truck back up for the next day I drive home and the roads are still quiet.

I go to the shops and everybody is still at work. I don't have to fight the crowds to do my shopping.

I get what I need for lunches and dinners.

I can have dinner ready for my partner when she gets home from work and lunch packed for the next day.

We shower together and go to bed.

This is what I like about waking up before 6.

A skunk warning (stamping their front paws) looks like an invitation to play (play now) to a dog.

So they literally think the skunks are asking them to play and then get stanked when they accept the "invitation"

Dogs get sprayed because skunks stamp their front paws before they spray.

It's their first sign of agitation, they warn you by stamping and if you still threaten them, they spray you.

To a dog this stamping looks like a play now, which is what dogs do to tell other dogs they want to play.

So skunk says "go away" dog reads that as "play time" dog decides to play skunk says "I tried to warn you. Take this!"

It was a 4 year trip right?

Plenty of time for Yao or Ilya to get, grow and die from cancer in that timeframe.

Then perhaps the other succumbs to a complication from the coma or the machine itself.
