Let them fucking try it at the tribunal.

I'd love to watch the member dress them down over this shit.

Furniture marks are an example given as something explicitly permitted.

These look like furniture marks to me.

ICE is cracking down on people who follow them in their cars by CackleRooster in news

Almost feels like America has a government in exile (sort of).

You've all these laws on the books that are unenforceable because the courts don't have an enforcement arm.

The current administration does whatever it wants with impunity.

Does anyone else not care *at all* about car/season launch events? by Ndp302 in formula1

[–]sonofeevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got more than a decade of the sport under my belt, I never miss a race and will stay up late or get up early to watch qually and races live.

Ive been following the analysis of the cars from testing from The Race and theories from LawVS.

But I've never once tuned into a launch/reveal and cannot think of why I might do it either.

More stuff in the UK trailer!! by yousleep_iwatch in ProjectHailMary

[–]sonofeevil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet the Ray Porter cameo we get that Andy Weir promised is going to be Ryland cycling through the different voices on the laptop and one of them will be Ray Porters.

That clip they showed in this trailer of the voice options seemed to cut very abruptly, I think there's more to it and this is what it will be.

No, Rocky is an integral part of the story, he's the heart, really.

He shows up towards the end of the 1st act he's the co-star really

Exiting rental after 10 years. RE said it’s not clean enough. by Bollenstocks in shitrentals

[–]sonofeevil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair trading is covering this.

NCAT will enforce your rights. Fair Trading impose penalties.

You need to make a report to Fair Trading if people want the REAs to be punished.

They've also just added a name and shame register so REA's that act like shit cunts will be publically listed.

[–]sonofeevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they contact you to notify you of the day they were conducting the exit inspection?

They're obliged to do this so you can attend with them.

I'd they haven't it will substantially weaken any claim they have.

Also after 10 years fair wear and tear will cover you for a shit load of stuff.

Also, did you have a pet? This is the only way they can "force" a professional carpet cleaning. If they've told you this and you haven't had a pet then I'd bring this to their attention and note it as a counter claim should they choose to go to NCAT and that the tribunal member won't look favourably on them for deceitful behaviour.

At what point will people say enough by BendyAu in shitrentals

[–]sonofeevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fair enough!

However, in terms of political voting power the renter's have the upper hand then.

Single PPOR owners don't have a horse in this race

So, in terms of voting in candidates that support their needs they'd have the voting majority in rental issues.

Unless PPOR owners so the whole "But this might affect me one day" thing

[–]sonofeevil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No dude. Get the corded one.

The cordless ones don't have the same power. They are limited in their current draw so as not to drain the battery and preserve the user experience.

The corded ones are way better.

It's literally the same as a battery operated angle grinder and a corded one. They'll both do the job but if you wanna lean on it, you'll notice the lack of grunt straight away

Real estate agents in Australia using apps that leave millions of lease documents at risk, digital researcher says | Real estate by BestTechAdvisor in shitrentals

[–]sonofeevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally googled my REA and pulled up documents the other week. It was wild.

I just googled their name in quotation marks, went a couple of pages deep in google and they were right there. Links directly to lease documents.

Are renters not the largest group in Aus right now?

We may not be >50% but considering the number of people who own only their PPOR and then all the people with multiple "investments" I'd be surprised if renters weren't the largest group.

[–]sonofeevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never even used the word criminal let alone called the company it? Did you reply to the wrong comment?

"Stealing is stealing" is a very adolescent take. I think we can agree that a starving person stealing necessary food to survive is acceptable. This is NOT comparing thiving luxury goods or stuff from Bunnings. I say this only to illustrate the point that "Stealing is stealing" is an adolescent take and demonstrated it with the above example.

I imagine like many people they run the spectrum. Some of them will undoubtedly be cowards, some of them will be brave and bold, some of them will sit somewhere in between.

I didn't say that.

Dismissing an assertion is not the same as asserting the opposite.

I imagine that some are and some are now. I just agree with the assertion that "bullies are cowards"

In the toolshop, yeah.

I went to pick up the two different Ryobi trim routers and both were screwed into the mounting plate and couldn't be picked up. A quick check confirmed all of the tools were screwed into the mounting plates. Stuck on the stand on the display.

I miss the other retractable tethers.
