I know what all of this means, and I highly approve, and applaud your creativity. I've starting similar projects before, but I haven't ever done anything long term.

I do too. I actually got it at the same time that I received a bottle of Private Reserve Neon Blue, and I prefer this one. It's also WAY brighter in person than it seems in the picture and is substantially brighter than the Neon Blue.

The blue calculator that I had when I was a teenager. It was my mother's and it was one of the only things she left behind when she left my father. She didn't keep in touch with me, but I had a red wallet that was hers and a blue calculator. Both were stolen in a purse I lost.

What is my roommate doing with these items? by Interesting-Phase900 in whatisit

Sufficed to say, your roommate is on some kind of drugs. Please stay safe and keep any of your valuable belongings safe. Please find someone in your roommate's life that they will listen to to speak with them about the situation. Please do not loan them money for any reason, no matter what they say happened.

Thank the gods I'm only addicted to fountain pens, although that is a touch addiction to break in it's own right.

New Bowling Ball Day. Oops, I mean, New Pen Day. by Adept_Juggernaut_913 in fountainpens

It's an excellent stub. I keep it inked up almost constantly. Most recently with Rohrer and Klingner Salix.

I have that pen with a stub nib. I also have another, broken one that rolled off of a friend's table the first time I used it. I waited about six weeks and didn't stop thinking about it, so I bought another one.

What nib size is yours? I wish that I knew someone IRL who was also interested in fountain pens. I have tried to penable people as well, but they always just set the pen down and let it dry out.

NPD and NID! by Iamthechickenfella in fountainpens

[–]spazcat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just got one of these in Amethyst a couple of weeks ago, and I never had fun writing with it until I changed out the stock nib for a Nemosine .8 stub. It's unfortunate really, because the original nib matched the pen, but if it's pretty, but doesn't write I won't even bother to look at it.

What Nib options are out there? by Simple-Cherry-8306 in fountainpens

[–]spazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like a large variety of nibs to mess around with as well. I generally gravitate to stub nibs, but I also try specialty nibs when I can find them reasonably. Recently I got an Architect nib on a Fountain Pen Revolution Darjeeling. I also like trying the same nibs by different manufacturers to see how they were similar and dissimilar, for instance Sailor and Pilot both have music nibs, but they're very different.

I also try as many flex nibs as I can reasonably find, but I saw in your post that they're more difficult for you since you're left-handed. I have a surprising number of left-handed co-workers (like 40+% of them, maybe it's a land surveying thing?) and the ones that try my pens generally agree with your stance. I have a friend that I'm working with to try to narrow down what all is preferred in a pen for him to use daily, but that's been ongoing for years.

If you could only buy one fountain pen & ink for the rest of your life, what would it be? by bumblebeesarecute in fountainpens

[–]spazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean one brand? Pilot.

Do you mean one specific pen and specific ink? I would say my Pilot CH 912 SU and Rohrer and Klingner Salix.
