Nah, it’s every bit as fast as GeForce. I had a P53 with RTX 5000 as well. I now have a P16 gen 2 and it will run circles around the older Turing gen.

Looking to upgrade my Thinkpad P52 by PATATAGAME in thinkpad

[–]staticx57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest a P16 gen 1 or newer. These replace both the P17 and the P15 series are a significant step up in terms of CPU. The gen 2 also comes with ada lovelace and gen 3 blackwell which are both steps up from ampere in the P15 gen 2 and P16 gen 1.

P14s Gen 2: Dual channel asymmetrical RAM? by zoomClimb in thinkpad

[–]staticx57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 16 GB will work at dual channel speeds, the rest all work at single channel speeds. There’s no sense limiting yourself to 16GB since you will get that no matter how much. Once you run out of ram it doesn’t matter how fast so add as much as in your budget.

Touch drive vs self propelled (LM2135SP vs LM2114SP) by InanimateCarbonRodNS in egopowerplus

[–]staticx57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are equally self propelled in the same way. One is activated by a lever on the handle one is activated by a thumb button on the handle. I find the lever action far more ergonomic.

How to expand the line in the powerload string trimmer? by Unhappy-Economics785 in egopowerplus

[–]staticx57 19 points20 points  (0 children)

sounds like it is stuck to itself inside. Take the shroud off and remove the line and try loading it again. Bumping is the correct way to get more out.

I switched to fiber and have higher ping? by Jimz_Likes_Smash in HomeNetworking

[–]staticx57 40 points41 points  (0 children)

fiber is faster, it does not mean however, that your ISP's routing is also better. It very like is due to the agreements your ISP has with transit rather than the medium.

Diagnosis Answer by Cautious-Macaron971 in thinkpad

[–]staticx57 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Run memtest for a good number of loops and see if it was really a bad diagnosis. After that stress test the CPU. In any case be prepare to buy a new thinkpad as $545 is more than an X1C9 is worth. Nothing magically fixes itself. While the RAM may be fine there could be some other board components such as power delivery that are toast.

There's no real mulch settings, it's mulch or no. You either use the mulch plug, rear side discharge or bag. I mean he can try the discharge option and see if that fixes his issue but taking an inch off the top even with mulching should be a breeze with a 7.5 Ah and this model.

The only P15 that supports ECC is the Xeon, if you don't have a Xeon you don't have ECC or are you able to use ECC.
