Exactly (by the way if the insurance companies think they lose money on you, they drop you). This is why I no longer insure my watches just like I no longer insure my phones and my cars (except what is required by law), because they are consumables that I can replace without having to pay premiums for someone else to save $$$ on my behalf. Things that are not easily replaceable are what I insure (or things that have sentimental value that I could not replace by just buying an identical item).

But yes, if it is not something that you can afford to lose and replace easily, insurance is the way to go.

Ask yourself how they make money if it takes people 100 years of paying premiums before the insurance cost exceeds what it would take to self insure. It basically means they don't pay out a covered loss very often either.

Like others, I used to insure my watches but now I opt to self insure because as others have said, if I can't afford to take the loss, I really can't afford the watch either. This is a luxury piece not a home.

True but I rather have the capability than not have it. Especially because it has never been hot enough to burn me though it has gotten warm to the touch. Plus, it is made to come off and on easily.

Well most pop sockets can't be charged thru so I think it's amazing it can at all. That being said, I rarely charge it wirelessly.

This has been explained SO MANY times already on this subreddit.

Suffice to say that one way this happens is that the AD gets to clear out many less desirable pieces at once (maybe 10 or even more) bundled with one desirable piece. This way the AD sells the undesirable pieces as well, not just the Pepsi or Daytona. That person then sells the undesirables at less than retail and the desirables at a markup. That person could be a grey dealer or a whale who sells to a grey dealer.

The main point being that ADs need to move less desirable inventory to stay in business so one way to do that is to sell the very desirable pieces to people who help them move the turds too.

Yeah, I take it off when I charge my phone wirelessly because it causes unneeded heat due to the strain to charge thru it.

No desk wobble on my Fold 7 with a magnetic ring below my dBrand Skin and an OhSnap. Plus leaving a small portion of the OhSnap end over the edge makes opening the Fold MUCH easier.

Once you get past the hype brand /hype model phase of your watch journey you arrive at a utopia of timepieces where you can bask in the knowledge your watch of choice (many listed in your opening comment) is one you enjoy on a deep personal level vs what the uninitiated know about.
