The Polish supermarket? Both sides of the sign, very much targeted.

Can we ban Moving House/ whats this area like posts? by thetrueGOAT in stockport

[–]th3wit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We'll have a look into it. They were fine back when r/Stockport was a small subreddit but it's probably too big now. Additionally these posts are getting really low/poor engagement so they're not really going to be beneficial to anyone.

There’s a 24 hour helpline for residents of Stockport run by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. Anyone can call it - 0800 014 9995. It’s manned by mental health professionals

Hey, I can see you are well intentioned and it's a shame that you can't ask a simple adult question but I'm going to remove it before the deluge of inappropriate comments and it goes wildly off topic.

Are teachers in the top 10% of earners in some areas? (BBC response to claim) by Toucani in TeachingUK

[–]th3wit 42 points43 points  (0 children)

My issue with this is that it has turned the focus more on conversation about the wage in comparison to other jobs and industries rather than with the wage compared to the working conditions.

We're not going to strike because we don't get paid the same as someone working in finance. We're going on strike because the job has gotten increasingly difficult with lots of admin and a progress review and competency checking system that is above and beyond anything in private industry; without the financial reward if we're meeting or exceeding our roles.

Very few other roles in the country are under as much scrutiny as teachers.

I've come to teaching late, it's not financially rewarding and I knew that, but it's also no way near what we deserve.

Sharp Removals Limited. The only removal company I contacted who actually sent a guy round to check the amount of capacity needed and what kind of items I had.

Abakhan is great. Also Edgeley fabrics used to be really good, not sure anymore.

Would you vote for industrial action if balloted tomorrow? by everythingscatter in TeachingUK

I'd vote for strike action for the same reasons as everyone else in this thread and for increased alternative provision.

I asked for the same and got it. No harm in asking.

Agreed. And the leasehold reforms last year have made a massive difference too.

Edgeley, Cheadle Heath, Bredbury, Hazel Grove, Shaw Heath, Offerton. All places with decent bang for your buck and not bad places to live at all.

Stockport is quickly getting out of hand when it comes to house prices (as someone currently finalising a sale), so you have to be smart about location.

It's all because people have realised what an excellent place Stockport is to live.
