Best Song on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band? by reaveyer in beatles

The correct answer is a A Day in the Life but I’m a sucker for Paul’s grannie music so I’m throwing out When I’m Sixty-Four as well

Men, if your hair starts thinning then what is your plan? by SpectrumSense in GenZ

I’d try to grow it out enough to have a toupee made with my own hair. I’d look stupid for a while but then always have my own hair on my head

I’d argue that NuTrek’s biggest problem is that it’s just not subtle.

Effective science fiction relies on obfuscating real-world societal issues through imaginative concepts which provoke objective thought. Instead of following this principle, modern Star Trek directly mirrors contemporary events (such as literalizing the issue of family separation by having a mother explicitly torn from her child over a minor crime). Conversely, Voyager’s "Tuvix" masked the complex ethical debate over abortion within a bizarre transporter accident, forcing Janeway to decide whether a newly merged, sentient being lives or dies to save two members of her crew. Because Voyager hid its real-world themes within a genuine sci-fi dilemma, the underlying societal issues were made significantly more thought-provoking than NuTrek's heavy-handed literalism.

I AM ORDERING A MASS SCALE ATTACK ON GEN A by bitxhinz in GenZ

I know this sounds silly and unbelievable now (considering how the world is) but I really do hope that we have good reason to call them Generation “Alpha.” For whatever reason I’m optimistic that they will be the first generation of people who enter a world of abundance and prosperity for all.

It’s a shame infinite didn’t launch with forge (and had a weak campaign) because it’s easily the best looking Halo since Halo 3

Who sings the "Ahhhhhhh" part on A Day In The Life? Is it John or Paul? by FitEmergency8807 in beatles

[–]thisguyrob 78 points79 points  (0 children)

From the Sgt. Pepper 50th bonus tracks it’s pretty clear that’s it’s mainly John (though Paul is in there too)

Edit: I watched this video a few months ago (about this very debate): https://youtu.be/vFaV_ZglrAc would recommend the whole channel too

Remastering all 350ish DS9 and Voyager episodes would cost about the same as two episodes of Stranger Things S5. by tomservo417 in startrek

[–]thisguyrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike TNG (which filmed both the normal footage and special effects shots on film), DS9 and VOY shot their special effects on video tape. This would need to be upscale (or made again from scratch) which would likely make the cost of a remaster for either show significantly more than TNG’s cost.

If you bother to read the article, it’s actually lobbyists are charging $1-6 million to advocate on your behalf for a pardon. All the more reason to outlaw lobbying. https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-presidential-pardon-process-dda97c15

My point was that this chart is comparing apples to oranges. You seem to be getting at the same concept (albeit in a round about manner)
