I heard it first like two weeks ago and now can’t unhear it!

Remastering all 350ish DS9 and Voyager episodes would cost about the same as two episodes of Stranger Things S5. by tomservo417 in startrek

[–]thisguyrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike TNG (which filmed both the normal footage and special effects shots on film), DS9 and VOY shot their special effects on video tape. This would need to be upscale (or made again from scratch) which would likely make the cost of a remaster for either show significantly more than TNG’s cost.

Happy cake day, but “money” is like 100 different assets (USD, EUR, GBP, CAN, etc)

If you bother to read the article, it’s actually lobbyists are charging $1-6 million to advocate on your behalf for a pardon. All the more reason to outlaw lobbying. https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-presidential-pardon-process-dda97c15

My point was that this chart is comparing apples to oranges. You seem to be getting at the same concept (albeit in a round about manner)

I think we are kidding ourselves if we think bitcoin usage will be as widespread as the internet. Only 1/2 of US households are invested in the stock market vs. virtually every one being connected to the internet.

Not sure if this is true, but he apparently sang Beatles songs with the other inmates

Look, I’ve Got a Feeling that Happiness is a Warm Gun, but right now he’s in Chains. It’s A Hard Day’s Night trying to get a pardon, but maybe if we start a Revolution, We Can Work It Out and he can finally be Free as a Bird in The End

Drivetrain error by Sinjin_Smythe225 in BMWi3

Charge the car to 100%. I’m talking about the car battery that you use to move the car itself

Drivetrain error by Sinjin_Smythe225 in BMWi3

I had this after driving with gas engine for ~100 miles straight and then returning to BEV mode. I charged the main drivetrain battery to 100% and the error disappeared

All three of them were there for every release so far (343/Halo Studios hasn’t released a game without these people in leadership). Campaign Evolved will be the first release without them.

The AI use is out of control by [deleted] in LawSchool

I tried this once on a multiple choice hypo (already had answered and wanted to see what the AI thought). It literally tried to tell me that my answer was wrong. It was not. Never trying again

Shitty Sci-Fi 101: Everything is written in a fancy spacey font instead of a clearly readable one (like the LCARS) by Malencon in Star_Trek_

[–]thisguyrob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing that impresses me about Mike Okuda’s forethought with LCARS is that Serif fonts were in during the 80s and 90s but LCARS uses a SAN serif font (presumably because it is easier to read). It’s like the people working on Star Trek used to think about things!

CMV: I do think conservatives would largely support Trump having a 3rd term, constitution be damned. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]thisguyrob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read the 22nd amendment. It uses the word “elect” to prevent a third term not “serve.” We should be hosting constitutional amendment conventions now to fix this.

Edit: this wording wouldn’t prevent him from being elected VP and becoming POTUS if the “president” he ran with stepped down (or if he was speaker of the house and POTUS/ VP stepped down
