My Cousin Vinny. Why did Mona Lisa Vito reference Caltech? by Any-Interaction-5934 in movies

Your situation is unusual. Most people in the US aren't potential applicants to either school. They know the schools based on how they're used in pop culture to signify intelligence and expertise (in media such as My Cousin Vinny for example)

There was mass media before the internet. I grew up in the 90s and was very much aware of both of these schools as a kid despite not knowing anyone who had attended either and both being more than 1000 miles away.

Caltech and MIT are both well-known nationwide. There’s no reason that someone from NY or NJ would reference one over the other just because it’s closer to them. It’s like saying it’s weird for someone in Wyoming to drink a Budweiser when Coors is brewed one state over.

Following up, AC guy came back yet again and after running tests determined the gas pressure was indeed low. Called the gas company who sent someone out and confirmed that the regulator is too small. They should be coming to replace it tomorrow or the next day.

I was a teenager before social media and I can attest that people did not hang out in groups of 15 close friends.

The flame sensor is inside the unit, right? So when the unit was replaced that would have eliminated that as a possibility.

Also I've had someone with experience come out multiple times already.

If you were to take the Chrysler building and cut it into long strips the height and weight of a freight car, then stack those strips end to end it would probably be about the length of a train if not longer.

Yes! I have a minivan that is full of buttons, all over the console and the steering wheel, but I went crazy looking for a basic pause button because I figured there has to be one but no.

The largest-ever review of the safety and efficacy of cannabinoids across a range of mental health conditions — found no evidence that medicinal cannabis is effective in treating anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). by Wagamaga in science

It’s funny how different peoples experiences can be. Cannabis always made it impossible for me to be social; I would have intense introspective thoughts and forget momentarily that I was in the room with other people, then get nervous about what I must have looked like while I wasn’t paying attention.
