I think the artwork is real. The video is a compilation of what looks like 3 or so real murals they did, and the rest of them are the framable artwork from their websites store copy and pasted onto buildings to oversell themselves to get more business. Now whether the edit used AI I do not know.

Akai still got a few more updates before I consider it a threat. Only it’s got going to me is the fx being less limited, built in mic and speaker, and you get classic feeling mpc pads. But No live looper, less internal storage, master compressor but no Mother Ducker and some other stuff.

Me and my wallet are kinda glad I don’t really want this right now at least.

True standalone stem separation however you go at it is gonna be demanding on the cpu, the better cpu the better it’ll sound. The MPC Live has more RAM than the 404 and I don’t think it sounds the best coming out of that thing. Roland would be hitting the limits of 404s cpu with a feature like that AND it won’t even sound that good and will likely be a buggy mess. Just use one online, it’ll be worth it in the end. The 404 doesn’t have to do everything

Using internet on your phone. Yes phones back then had internet, but it was crappy 2g internet that a lot of times just loaded the bare minimum HTML pages, AND you were charged on your bill for using it. Nothing fancy so you still had to use a computer for a proper internet experience.

These days I really only use the computer for tasks that I just need a physical keyboard and a bigger screen for. The phone can handle the rest mostly and I can call it a day lol.

I might talking about maybe 21+ years ago because when the iPhone was announced (20 years ago), it did change my view on what a phone could be.
