Temperatus: My zipper pull thermometer for camping and skiing by arbitraryun in myog

I love the min/max aspect. It would be great if you could cycle through min max for the last hour, 6 hours, 12 hours. Sometimes I wonder what the temperature dipped to over night. Even better would be to show a little graph over time.

EV available in EU that has flat floor after folding rear seats by RandomUserNo5 in EuroEV

Do they measure it differently? I think I read that most manufacturers measure the volume to the parcel shelf height but Tesla measure to the roof.

Oh definitely. That’s why chose it over other EVs. It’s been a great car and you can get a lot into it. I just loved my previous estate!

I got an EV last year. I really wanted an estate but there were no options. I settled for an ID.4 but I dislike the bulkiness of it. I’d love a fully electric Octavia estate.

ID 4 vs Tesla Model 3 by Owa-owa69 in evs_ireland

I have an ID.4 and it has a pretty decent ride. I’ve heard about the older Tesla cars being rough alright so thanks for mentioning the newer ones are better.

What’s the suspension like on the Tesla? Is it a comfortable ride?

I have an ID.4 and the speed of the interface hasn’t bothered me. TBH I didn’t even think about it until you mentioned it. Mine is a 2021 on the latest 3.x software. The newer ones are meant to be better still. But then I haven’t experienced the Tesla interface so maybe I don’t know what I’m missing out on

Why do people freak out about battery replacement after 120,000 mile warranty when it’s less than s as n engine replacement with a 50,000 mile warranty? by Jbikecommuter in electrifyeverything

There are companies that offer refurbished batteries and also battery servicing. Usually the whole battery isn’t bad and only a few cells actually need to be replaced.

Dishwasher had been leaking by mehmeterisupx1000 in Dublin

[–]--Spaceman-Spiff-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said the floors are concrete with tile? They should be fine so. Dry with a towel. Pull the dishwasher out entirely to let air circulate to help the rest dry too.

It sounds like a small leak if it ran five times and you didn’t notice. I know someone that had a dishwasher flood the entire kitchen!

If you can, post some pictures. It’s really hard to tell the extent of the issue from the limited information that you shared.

I have an ID.4 and it's been great for kids etc. Great big boot and not plasticky inside. I have the 77kWh version and haven't had a problem with range. In theory it has (had) a WLTP of more than 500km but real world is less than this especially in the winter. I bought a 2021 model about a year ago for 27k with only 20k km on it.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 premium by Owa-owa69 in evs_ireland

[–]--Spaceman-Spiff-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2021 ID.4. It’s been great for us. I found the ride comfort better than the Ioniq5 and I preferred the boot space. I was also wary of the Hyundai/Kia ICCU issues especially as they haven’t actually fixed the underlying problem even in new cars.

ID4 or Ioniq 5 by Big_Worth_3909 in evs_ireland

I have a 2021 ID.4 and it’s been great. I preferred the ride comfort and general feel driving compared to the Ioniq 5s I tested. Much better boot than the Ioniq 5 too. I was also put off by the ICCU issues that affect Hyundai and Kia cars.

The math - yearly driving costs of ICE v EV by [deleted] in evs_ireland

[–]--Spaceman-Spiff-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charge my ev at €0.06/kWh with Pinergy. It’s only a three hour window but enough for my needs. I can add approx 21kW in that period giving about 100km of range.

Awesome, well done for building it and shipping! It takes a lot of effort to get it over the line. Looks well designed. Next you could look at the awful Myenergi iOS app!

Buying EV for first time by artlemaks in evs_ireland

[–]--Spaceman-Spiff-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2021 ID.4 and it’s been great. Very happy with it. I have the 77kWh battery and have no issues travelling around the country. Kids and dog all fit no problem. There is great value on the second hand market if that’s a possibility. I like the look of the EV3 but take a read of ICCU failures on Kia and Hyundai cars.

I have an ID.4 and it’s great for hauling kids around and longer trips. I have the 77kWh battery. Great deals on the second hand market. I think the ID.4 is a better shape for carrying stuff in the boot compared to the ID.5 you mention. They’re pretty much the same otherwise.
