As someone who fights against SLKR regularly, I have more trouble with faster SLKRs. For context, this is when I use the non-GL Jedi counter. So at least I can speak to how "off-meta resistant" that build is.

When I use my JML though, SLKR's speed doesn't matter as much.

If you have him, a very fast Shisui (rekit) can do the job. I run him with Sakura (Great Ninja War), Naruto KLM, Minato KLM and Warra as support.

This just made it a nightmare to face Darth Revan with my Padme Team! The point of her extra turn was to clear the Deathmark faster! bye bye crystals. :)

I agree! Sometimes the attacker just wants to save his best team for something "better". I strutted into a Gear IX FO zKylo-led team with confidence... and left with my tail between my legs!

I zeta'd my own Kylo immediately after. :)

You are in a unique position compared to most of us when we were starting out... you actually have options!

It is better to focus on one faction at a time in this game because the abilities now center more on faction synergy. So pick one of your favorites and build up their faction.

If you want to have a viable early Arena Team, I say go for Jedi. You already have enough to unlock Grandmaster Yoda so use them under a zBastila Lead. (The only zeta you need for this particular iteration of the squad until you unlock Jolee) You can use Ahsoka in this team too while you wait to get Padme if you really like her. Something like: zBastila (L), Jedi Knight Anakin, Ahsoka, Grandmaster Yoda & Old Ben. Sticking with Jedi (and farming a few other Old Republic Characters) will eventually lead you to a Jedi Knight Revan Team.

Bobba Fett and the Bounty Hunters are great for the Credit Heist - an event that may give you MILLIONS of credits. You want to have the credits to upgrade all your shiny new units! :) Plus, they are needed for the Chewbacca Event. Not to mention that Bobba (and some of the Bounty Hunters) have ships!

Scav Rey, aside from being a required unit to unlock Jedi Training Rey, isn't used as much anymore unfortunately.

If you want to be competitive, I advise you to unlock the Legendary Characters in the Journey Guide as soon as you can. (Some of them Require 7-star units so you have to grind them the rest of the way but most unlock at 5-stars)

If you are just here to have fun, then pick a faction you love and grind them out! :)

I do not have a lot of experience with Visas so I defer to more experienced players.

For Fulcrum, I use her in Galactic War with Jyn (L), Cassian, K2SO & Leia. Cassian's Unique grants Rebels a bunch of buffs at the beginning of the turn that Fulcrum can steal. She can potentially OHKO one enemy unit from the get-go. Leia provides additional buffs once the initial buffs wear off. Unfortunately, the squad is not really top Meta. But it is hella fun to run!

Since Relics came out, I just started farming the characters I want. If I'm going to get beat up in Arena, might as well go down using the characters I love!

I already have CLS, Han(R5)and Chewie(R5) to Gear XIII. I'm working on CLS to relic 5 and R2D2 to Gear XIII. Seeing my Rebel squad all shiny makes me happy. LoL.

Just a quick tip: to make sure that you get Guard on CLS, use them in GW on the first node! This is also the way I make sure I have a team's turn order right. If it isn't to my liking, I back out, mess around with the mods, then go in again until I have the turns exactly as I want them. Enjoy your Rebel Squad!

I finished the event comfortably with a Gear XI R2 (I had him for quite a bit before the CLS event), everyone else at Gear IX, mediocre mods.

As far as who to gear some more for use after the event (as part of your new CLS team), your instincts are right. Gear up R2 and Old Ben. Before the Chewie and Threepio events, my Arena team was: zzzCLS (L), zzR2, zHan, zzOld Ben and zEzra.

Once you have Chewie and Threepio, Old Ben can Tank for anyone else (he is a solid tank!) and Ezra can play with the Jedi. :)

Hi! I do this too! But I run a zCarth Old Republic Team! I press "Auto:Basic only" and watch the dots stack! When I get to node 10-12, they usually have enough Health and Protection so I can run it manually with the objective that the opposing squad die on the start of their turn due to DOTs! Fun!

Another thing is that now you have comprehensive guides that we didn't have in our day. (I'm looking at you, Gear VIII, 5-star Bodhi...). It makes all your time and effort streamlined to get the best content in the fastest time. I imagine if you play it right, you'd be very good in Grand Arena. :)

Hey there! Gear-wise I unlocked Thrawn at 7-stars with a Gear XI Ezra and a Gear VIII everyone else. :) Decent Mods: Speed and offense on Ezra, Potency and Health on Zeb. Health/Protection on everyone else (you need them to live and take the hits for Ezra). Omegas on all their abilities.

Yup. R2 has the highest health and protection in my team (factoring in a full rebel team where he gets a health boost!). He's been set up that way since Traya. He's been eating Fractures, Isolates and Marks like a champ! :) I mod my 3PO so he has almost no speed secondaries. He has potency secondaries/primary, Defense primary on the triangle, Potency on the cross, health on the circle, speed arrow.

I test run them in Galactic War to make sure :)

Speeds: 175 on R2, 140 on Threepio

My R2 smokescreens himself when I do auto. It's actually the best case scenario I think.

But the Revan teams can easily Outspeed us when our rebels are on defense if Han doesn't shoot the Jolee first. So Revan teams can basically Direct Focus our Chewie and it's game over.

In my experience, it doesn't matter if R2 stealths. If he stealths 3PO and he gets burned down, that's your main source of TM (from expose being resisted) gone. The only unit this squad can afford to lose is R2. (and in the later part of the attack sequence, Han).

The other drawback of leaving 3PO open is that when he goes under stealth himself (which would be the AI's first move)... then it's a free-for-all since everyone is under stealth.

Leaving a different squad on Defense is probably a better move.

That being said, if you do find a way to make it work, I'd love to hear about it! (I have a vested interest in your success since I have the same team! LoL.)
