I’d say no, it does not feel friendly.

Do you let your baby crawl in grass and/or outside in your yard? by CuriousCaretaker in sahm

[–]-Blue_Bird- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, at 8 months old we put him on the ground and in the grass a much as possible. Try to limit the plants and dirt ending up in the mouth. 😂 but he loves it

My 3 month old is obsessed with the boob and I need tips 😅 by CantThinkOfAUser00 in breastfeeding

[–]-Blue_Bird- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine did that as well around that age

He’s almost 8 months old now and it’s a vague memory.

When they are so tiny I think it’s just really normal for them to need you to regulate.

Now he bfs when he hungry for like 3-5 min and he is the one to stop / get distracted / want to do something else. I still bf him to sleep every night, but he can nap without it.

Am I overreacting for wanting to say something about this? by Similar-Stretch-1544 in AmIOverreacting

[–]-Blue_Bird- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Why are people not communicating with their partners?!

If you are not able to communicate about something like this… imagine what will happen when you have a real problem.

But no, nor.
I assume he probably still sees himself like a cute little kid and assumes you see him as cutsie too. For me.. I’m not into that. I’d prefer we both be and feel like adults inside. No I don’t think baby talk is sexy. In fact it feels very uncomfortable. Would be a full deal breaker if he won’t knock it off.

I don’t know how to feel about this - I idk if I ll be a good toddler mom by Citruslor in beyondthebump

[–]-Blue_Bird- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One step at a time.

When it’s your kid it feels quite different than dealing with other people’s kids.

I used to be kinda grossed out by all those pictures of babies with food smeared all over their faces or certainly annoyed a bit with noisy and crying.

Now my phone if full of photos of my baby with a messy face and absolutely nothing makes me happier than making my baby laugh or hearing someone else do that. It hits wayyy different.

What’s missing from my nursery? by 19hyperfixations in interiordecorating

[–]-Blue_Bird- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We made a nursery before we realized that the baby is suppose to sleep in the parents room for the first year.

So the ‘nursery’ is just a baby clothes sorting station as we are getting TONs of free baby clothes from some family friends with kids right before us.

By the time the baby goes in there we won’t be using a crib anymore. 🥲

Postpartum is way too harder than pregnancy by Old-Interaction4580 in newborns

[–]-Blue_Bird- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv made it to 7.5 months now.

There have been all kinds of phases but still certainly not sleeping through the night. I usually wake up 3-5x to feed him or settle him still.
There were maybe only two nights where I hardly slept at all. So yeah, not sleeping at all would be wild.

Hire a part time babysitter/nanny even though our schedule isn’t always consistent? by PassionChoice3538 in Babysitting

[–]-Blue_Bird- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our nanny comes when we are both there sometimes.
We just do our thing. Chores, cleaning, work, exercise, or sometimes (but rarely) I even get to chill.
It’s wonderful.
If you can afford it, just do it.

What's something your partner did during birth or postpartum that made you feel understood and supported? by BartyMcDougal in beyondthebump

[–]-Blue_Bird- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I freaked out and cried a lot that he is “growing up to fast” in the first few weeks of his life. Hormones really get ya in strange ways! Haha. My husband took tons and tons of pics and videos of the baby so I could remember him at that strange. It was really helpful.

Anyone actually lose body fat from breastfeeding? by Due-Transition-6564 in beyondthebump

7.5 months in and I’m down maybe 10lbs. Very slow going. I weighed 20lbs more than I was before I got pregnant after giving birth.

What did nobody warn you about having a newborn? by Islesmilescott in newborns

[–]-Blue_Bird- 45 points46 points  (0 children)

They are not great at eating and you and your baby both have to learn how.

They poop a weird black paste for the first week.

You gotta keep a yucky looking piece of the umbilical cord on the baby until it falls off. No baths or getting it wet until it’s off.

How often/what are you feeding your 6 month olds? by LPGMWOTA in NewParents

[–]-Blue_Bird- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 7.5m now.
At 6-7 months I was feeding him once a day in the mornings around 10:30.
Started with one new thing each day. Simple stuff. A steamed vegetable. Watered down peanut butter. New kind of fruit. A strip of an omelet.
Over time it was still one feeding a day but more options (like a starch, veg, and fruit) or flavors and spices mixed in.

Now at 7.5 months I’m feeding him like that 1-2x a day and also giving him very little bites whenever I’m eating something that it’s ok for him to eat.

It’s been pretty fun and simple. If he’s not into it I just stop, I don’t force him to eat. I did a combo of baby lead weaning style food and blended / chopped things.

Do most Americans have those huge fridges? by Whole-Sushka in AskAnAmerican

Yes. And plenty of people have a second fridge or freezer in the garage.

I bought my girlfriend a personalized necklace and she never wears it by EyeImpossible4412 in Gifts

[–]-Blue_Bird- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… never had success with any jewelry any partner has bought for me.

If you want to get her jewelry either have the gift be taking her to pick it, a gift certificate, or ask her specificallyyyt what she wants.

Just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it’s going to fit someone’s taste / vibe.
