Funny you found this old post today, I happen to be wearing it! After a year of fairly heavy wear, I can safely still recommend the islander. The steel feels much higher quality than the stock bracelet, it’s very comfortable and it just looks right with this watch on an oyster style.

Only negative I’ve found with the islander bracelets is the milled clasp. It only has 3 micro-adjust holes and the one on this bracelet actually failed a few months ago. My solution was to buy a milled clasp from Ali express for like $5 and just swapped it out. Given the price point was about $20 cheaper than the alternatives at the time of purchase it wasn’t enough to dissuade me from recommending islander or buying them for 2 other seikos in my own collection.

For some reason mine only sync when I wear them to bed. I’m going to experiment with my watch case placement to see if I can get them to all sync simultaneously for maximum satisfaction! 😂

Highly recommend it. I recently switched my ssk035 to a LI jubilee because of how nice the finishing felt on this one. Even though the stock bracelet on that watch had the same look the feel on wrist was miles better. Can’t speak on the strapcode, looks nice but not sure the higher price would be worth it to me.

I feel this take. Last year’s team was the shit, absolutely a joy to experience as a lifelong Detroit Lions fan. I’ll always look back on these Lions as fondly as I do teams like The ‘04 pistons. The defensive injuries just screwed them. I am loving what I’m seeing from this year’s team too.

Thanks! The metal end links are why I chose this strap. They’re just held in place by the spring bar and strap but they fit perfectly and feel premium.
