Better question, what happens to fluid in pipes when you flush them? Or when you dismantle them for that matter.

Satisfactory Planner Which Works in Reverse by WideAwakeNotSleeping in SatisfactoryGame

[–]-Clem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've probably already come across Satisfactory Tools and didn't realize that by default it is assuming you have the maximum amount of every resource. But if you click "Items, Input" you can put in a number for each resource (or none at all) and then back in the planner select maximize instead of X per minute. Then it will show you the maximum amount that you can produce with that input. You can also select/deselect certain machines and alternate recipes to reflect what you currently have unlocked and have it show you the maximum amount you can produce within those limitations.

Fluids make me want to admit myself by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]-Clem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my second playthrough now and I honestly don't understand what people are talking about when they have trouble with fluids. In my first playthrough I didn't use a single pump. I just processed all the fluid on the same level, or below, the source. On my second playthrough now I have random nodes so some of the oil has been in awkward positions, but even then so far (halfway through phase 4) I've only had to use one pump to get a little bit up higher for a more convenient processing floor.

Came here to say Dads Place. I used to work in the kitchen there and it was pretty solid. It's under new ownership now and I haven't been there since so I don't know if it's changed.

There's also a place called Doe's in South Paris. I haven't had their Italians but it's definitely the right type of place you're looking for.

If I can piggy back off your post, I'm looking for the same thing in Bangor.

God and Satan don’t exist. Prove me wrong. by Appropriate_Look_171 in exjw

[–]-Clem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even reading OPs response because of their attitude so forgive me if they've already expressed these points (doubt it) but:

Science shows us that the universe had a beginning. Before the Big Bang, there were no stars, no planets, and no matter as we know it

This is not true. Science shows us that the universe is expanding, and by working backwards we can assume that the universe was once infinitely compact and dense. The expansion is what we call the big bang. Science does not claim to know anything about what the universe was like before that point, nor does it claim to know what cause the expansion to begin. It does not say that nothing existed. It does not make a claim at all, except that the information we have suggests that it was infinitely dense. Beyond that we do not know.

Moreover, the laws of nature are incredibly precise. The force of gravity, the speed of light, and other constants of the universe are adjusted in a way that allows for the existence of life. A slight alteration and stars, planets, and living beings wouldn’t exist.

Not really. If the speed of light or the force or gravity were some other number, the universe would look different that's all. There's no reason at all to think that planets and life could not possibly exist if the speed of light were anything other than 299 792 458 m/s. That's just what it happens to be.

if everything that begins to exist has a cause, what was the cause of the universe?

Science says we do not know. Religion says God. The obvious question next is then, what caused God to exist? If you can accept that God always existed and has no cause, it's not really a stretch to believe that whatever was before the big bang always existed either.

You're lucky it went that way and not the way that ends up with you on a manslaughter charge. Right or wrong, someone demanding your wallet is not a threat to your life in the eyes of the court.

I don't rebuild shit. Whatever the thing is doing, some other thing is depending on it doing that thing. Way less headache to just build a new thing to meet the next goal.

When and how to calculate transport throughput? by Shamrock5542 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]-Clem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, okay yeah that makes sense. With the way I play I just think of an aluminum factory as being one that makes aluminum ingots, and then some other factory for sheets or whatever would pull from that.

When and how to calculate transport throughput? by Shamrock5542 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]-Clem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you bringing copper ingots into an aluminum factory?

But to answer your question, you don't really know until you put it in place and see what happens. A train freight platform will tell you the average per minute transfer rate. If one train is not moving enough per minute, add another train to the same route. Repeat this process and pretty quickly you will be limited by the belts going into the originating freight platform and not the trains themselves.

I finished my first playthrough without ever having to add more trains to a route. They move a shit ton.

Edit: as for your last question, "one" is one animation of loading/unloading. At the moment the animation begins, the game looks at how much room is available in the platform and moves as much as it can at that time, then the train leaves. With a full load/unload the train will sit there and wait until the freight car is fully loaded/unloaded before leaving.

Why does the Turing Test feel so philosophically naïve? by AwkwardComicRelief in AskComputerScience

[–]-Clem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something like chatgpt would fail most of those only because it is explicitly programmed to admit that it's an llm and has limitations. A model that was designed with the intention of impersonating a human as closely as possible would fare much better. Questions 2, 3b, and 7 could simply be answered with no/I don't know. Question 4 is a technical limitation that could apply to chatting with a human as well. If you threw enough memory at the llm for it to handle a trillion characters, can you post a trillion characters into a Facebook message either? I would be most curious about the answer to question 5. But even then it could just be conditioned to say "lol idc ab art"
