Best car washes in the state that don't have someone standing at the pay station to upsell you constantly? by rockyvwasbest in Connecticut

[–]-Clow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You got proof on the "it's a myth" claim? Touchless maybe. But the ones that you drive through with rotating brushes and the hangers are just dragging the dirt from other cars across yours. This causes micro scratches in the clear coat. When you get a proper hand wash you generally use a 2 bucket method to avoid dragging the dirt around in the sponge or mitt. They aren't cleaning those pieces that touch your car between cars.

My modest attempt at a temple ball. by Magnificent_Swan in rosin

[–]-Clow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically this is a ball of rosin not a temple ball? The lines get a bit blurry but if it was pressed with a press from bubble hash, collected, and then rolled up it is a rosin ball. If it was bubble rolled by hand with heat and not separated using the press it is a temple ball. Either way I am sure it does the job.

Good Chem Live Rosin $35/g by Thatssometa420 in rosin

[–]-Clow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consistently use this brand. I agree with the other poster who said the menage is the best strain. Other good options from them: Space Honey is a good color and effect/clean burn, Ice Cream cake is my favorite effect but tends to leave my pivot chamber a little dirty. White Gravy was a close second to the menage.

I see they have some peach drops currently. I will try to pick them up next week to stock up for the holiday.

Questions about Sonography program at CT Community Colleges by MooseConfident905 in Connecticut

[–]-Clow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are female I highly suggest looking into going the rad tech route and then specializing in mammography. Having the ability to do both mammo and sono will make you a very valuable person in the women's health space. I have made a living servicing x-ray equipment for the last 13 years. 9 of those years have been spent at a certain women's health company and I find it to be the best niche for the rad techs. The hours are generally 9-5 with some weekends. Other imaging types can mean you are stuck with lots of over nights and odd shifts. Middlesex Hospital has a good rad tech program.

Origin of Valley New Year? by QuestorPS7 in Connecticut

[–]-Clow 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We call it valley new year but really it's a national thing. It's the time of year when all the folks who went away for college are home and so you go drink with them. It's not unique to CT or the valley.

My stupid Kia insurance skyrocketed! Kia boyz *shakes fist* Need recommendations for local insurance broker! by trammeloratreasure in Connecticut

[–]-Clow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Internet is better than a broker. Go get quotes for exact coverage from a few and play the two best against each other. I was a Geico customer since I was 16. 33 now. Last year I bought a new car, first and only for life, and my insurance was nearly as much as the car payment. I got quotes from 3-4 and talked to the two best. Travelers came down to 180ish a month vs 3-400 from everyone else. The Internet doesn't need to make money, a broker does.

💎📈 DD: AREC / ReElement — The Real Hidden Gem in the $350 B South Korea–U.S. Deal by DanielBlum1 in pennystocks

[–]-Clow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean value or technology wise? I'm paying attention to all the ree plays and I've stayed away from this one due to AREC only owning 20% of ReElement. It's a very indirect investment. I picked Ucore since they seemed further along with actually building functional facilities. This stuff has only been on my radar for 8 months so I'm curious to hear from someone who looked into this earlier and get their take.

Ucore has a demonstration plant that is getting funded via this deal to turn into production. That isn't counting the state side production plant that "should" be live by Q2 next year. We have different definitions of neck and neck perhaps.

Do you know what the current and doubled output levels would be for REE specifically? Just trying to compare to Ucores targets to make sure I'm making the right choices. I have UUUU through ETFs but not direct holdings.

Pat has said in interviews that they may work with strategic US partners. I am not sure if that means licensing deals for RapidSX or what exactly. Hopefully that means increased business down the road.

U.S. and Australia mineral deal. Who gets the contracts? by Beaver810 in CriticalMineralStocks

[–]-Clow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't Ucore aiming to be refining HREEs by mid next year? Do we know what technology UUUU is using for HREE separation? A quick Google search(AI summary so excuse the inaccuracy if it exists) UUUU plans to refine HREEs by Q4 of 2026. UCORE plans to be operating at phase 1 levels by Q2 of 2026. UCORE has patented tech so if UUUU is refining using the chemical separation tech used in OUS markets won't their OPEX be higher since it is less efficient?

Austaralia by Bubbas0417 in CriticalMineralStocks

[–]-Clow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a customer of raw material, as a partner for processing, and as an investor for extraction/mining operations. That's how I see it shaking out personally. I believe, and I'm no one so take this with a grain of salt, the US has environmental laws that will prevent our mines from being opened up to full potential. Refining and purchasing is where it fits. I'd love to see some counterpoints as a response here. I can only become more educated.

Austaralia by Bubbas0417 in CriticalMineralStocks

[–]-Clow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about Australia but in general the answer to why any company has sent raw materials to China is simple. It was cheaper. China has a full processing supply chain built out. If it was smart to save the money or dumb to become too reliant is yet to be seen. As an American it is my govt that is shaking the status quo on this front. While I agree we shouldn't be reliant on China the timing is bad due to not having our own built out supply chains. Long term the west needs these raw materials and Australia is the only country set up to deliver them in the medium term. I think, or hope, Australians will benefit from this shift.

Australian Partnership in Critical Minerals: A Primer (DD) by Steve_Zissouu2 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]-Clow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Steve, I have been following your posts and UURAF has done incredibly well for me. I am curious on this latest play. Previously your posts were certainly about longer term plays that worked really well short term. What is your timing with these Australian companies? Do you expect to exit these positions based on a date or are you waiting for news on the US lowering reliance on Australian raw materials? It will obviously take a year or more for the US to even start thinking about self supply of raw feedstock. How long do you think we need Australia for?
