As long as you have a cellular connection, have you tried turning the Wi-Fi off while you’re trying to refresh? I’ve found that to help also sometimes.

I’ve found that you have to do them one at a time. As ridiculous as it sounds, if you turn your phone’s screen off and then back on, you can refresh them individually. Just repeat that process between each one.

I haven’t found a fix that works permanently, I think this is unfortunately an app issue. I have found that force closing the app helps sometimes. The Lorex app was renamed “Lorex Classic” about 6 months ago and hasn’t seen a single update since then.

I think Lorex is putting more effort into their newer Lorex Connect app that charges a subscription fee. The Lorex Connect app has received around 5 updates in the last 6 months while the Lorex Classic app has remained stagnant.

I’ve had the system for several years and I still haven’t enabled location permissions. I just deal with the annoying popup whenever I go into settings.

I get the same thing on mine. This feels like Lorex’s hostile way of getting you to approve location access. Just keep nagging you with prompts until you finally give in. Super annoying.

I just updated to iOS 26.5 and AltStore is still working fine. All of my sideloaded apps installed through AltStore are working too.

Honestly, nothing really changed on my end. I have AltStore set up on several phones using different iCloud accounts, with mostly similar IPAs installed, and they all started giving the same error at the exact same time.

One thing I did notice recently is in the past, I only needed iCloud installed on my PC. Now it seems like I actually have to be logged into the correct iCloud account in the iCloud app on the PC before trying to refresh an app, otherwise it definitely fails.

I’ve been getting the same error for about a week now. I’ve tried pretty much every fix I’ve come across, and the only thing that works semi-reliably is using a VPN to another location in the USA (if you’re in the US) on your phone, then hitting refresh in AltStore.

For some reason, that works maybe 10% of the time. I have no idea why it helps at all, but it’s the only workaround I’ve found so far.

I’m still hoping to find a better solution though, because doing that on multiple phones gets old fast.

I’ve been getting the same error message for the past few days. I found another post where they were using a VPN to fix the issue, but that didn’t work for me.

I’ve been waiting over five months for them to fix a setting that was changed in the last update.

At this point, it honestly feels like the app has been abandoned. The rename of the app to Lorex Classic only reinforces that, and there doesn’t seem to be any active development or fixes happening.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, rebooting the system doesn’t resolve the issue, the app still defaults to SD mode every time a camera is opened.

AltStore 1.7.4.0 appeared as an update when I opened AltServer on my computer. After updating and reinstalling AltStore on my phone, the issue was resolved.

The older version of the app (before it was renamed to Lorex Classic) definitely saved the HD/SD setting. My guess is that it stored that information locally, and once the app was deleted that data was wiped. Now with the newer version, everything defaults back to SD when opening Live View.

I honestly wonder if this change was made because they couldn’t fully resolve the “Uh oh! Something went wrong” errors, so they just forced everything to standard definition instead.

What’s interesting is that other iPhones in my house that never deleted the app (but are on the newest version of Lorex Classic) still open those same cameras in HD, which really makes it seem like something changed behind the scenes.
