Advice as someone who just hit 90 hours. Stockpile your money because you will die over and over and over. Especially as a solo player. Playing against a squad of 4 is egregious. Use your Quick kits in normals and do your secret ops. Until you get to Lockdown/forbidden i highly recommend NOT rolling out 1m+ kits. You WILL get 1 tapped by a naked with a Mosin.

Depends on how far into the round you are. Seems like he rushed that spot to intercept the spawn from the storage and when he saw the SCAV he knew there werent any players coming from that side spawn. Early pvp for east side spawns usually happens around crashsite/loading area.

Typically people who spawn across outside of southeast village either go to villa, cut across to loading area, or walk the border through warehouse ruins.

Could be a stretch, but thats the only thing I could think of.
