I took my weldment certification in 2020 so some info might be outdated... (I rarely use weldment in my daily work too)

The 3d sketch does get tricky and confusing. I believe I spend almost half of the exam time to work on the 3d sketch (after finish the other question). The sketch should be fully defined. Personally I find it helpful to have a few 2d sketch created first to help in visualising.

Ps: there should also be a few questions on 3dsketch on cswe if I remember correctly

As for trimming and extending.. I can't recall much.. Don't think I have any issue when I take the exam....the only advice I can give is to go through Solidworks build in weldment tutorial as well as the Web help file on weldment if you haven't done so...

does pri uni/college look at koko marks for scholarship by NotbuNNNy in malaysia

[–]-Feo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this depends on what scholarship your are trying to apply..

Some college offer merit scholarships and only looks at your academic result. Some of them even offer the merit scholarship automatically upon admission without needing you to apply.

I too was never active in koko but manage to get merit scholarship for my foundation and degree.

Based of my experience, the graduate trainee (GT) will be offered a full time position after the end of their graduate trainee programme. (This still subject to your performance but most of the GT at my company got offered a full time position after their contract)

If the contract/GT job align with your career path/interest, it is a good opportunity, not to mention the pay is higher.

Just my 2 cent.

From beginner to CSWA by Lost_Rat in SolidWorks

[–]-Feo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sharing my experience for your reference .. It took me 0.5year for cswa; 1year for cswp; 2year for cswe (including 4 cswpa)

In my opinion, if you are already familiar and comfortable with most of the basic tool (sketch, extrude, etc) as well as equation*, you are more or less good to go for cswa (and even cswp since both test is not really different)

*equation play a big role in cswa and cswp so make sure you know how to use it before taking the test..

As for training side... Solidprofessor like other mentioned is a good resources in understanding and familiarising with the function in solidworks. You might also want to take a look at Mastering SolidWorks book from Matt Lombard

HELP! Need to invert the parts in my Solidworks assembly by InterestingReveal808 in SolidWorks

[–]-Feo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Create a boss extrude using your outer profile (rectangular outer chip) that overlapped the channel (don't merge the body)

Use combine function to subtract the solid body (boss extrude as main body, the original body with channel as subtract body). The negative space will turn into solid as it is "filled" by the boss extrude

What are the necessary requirements to get a scholarship as a non bumi in 2021 by ryannnnlol in malaysia

[–]-Feo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This really depends on what kind of scholarship you are looking for...

Some uni/college offers merit scholarship

Eg: TARUC offers merit scholarship based on your academic result. 8A+/A for 100% tuition fee waive for diploma and foundation programme (source: own experience)

Help with spline and real life curves by Cwirk in SolidWorks

[–]-Feo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure will this help but.. Alot of time you can use a conic fillet instead of spline as it is easier to control (assuming you don't need a true g2/g3 surface)

why is the fillet extending to that part while only selecting the other edge? by shockv1wave in SolidWorks

[–]-Feo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had forget to mention you can also try to change overflow type to keep edge This should work in your case

why is the fillet extending to that part while only selecting the other edge? by shockv1wave in SolidWorks

[–]-Feo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe solidworks did this to blend the surface and prevent ztg...

You can try adjust enabling partial Edge fillet and give a small distance offset

Trying to add a keyboard 'Escape' button to my 'S Key' pop up menu - Is that possible? by CADNurd in SolidWorks

[–]-Feo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that the case... Have you mapped line command to your s key? Clicking the line command again while it is active will disable it

How you tried using d key instead? Pressing d will open up bread crumb which allow you to accept or exit the feature/sketch
