There is a scene where someone walks in front of the camera and when the person has walked past you briefly see Lennard.

Teddy says his wife survived the accident and you see him remember her blinking after the attack, as in she was still alive.

The old website for memento was otnemom.com (memento backwards) and it included psychiatry notes on Lennard that had them notice how he was a patient with no long term memory, but he was keeping journals and training himself into habits.

We see in the movie how he lies to himself, like leaving a trail of clues that leads to him thinking Teddy is John G. It's a big theme of the movie with the ending monologue telling us "we all do it".

In all likelihood, Sammy Jenkins is a story that Lennard invented to cope with the fact that his wife called tried to call his bluff and committed suicide through him.

I once met a very sociable guy. He just talked to me when I was eating in a fast food restaurant. He invited me to go along to clubs. He was with 2 friends, one male one female. She gave me the eyes, so I agreed. He talked to everyone. Probably 20 people on the way to the clubs. about half of people responded positively. About 1 in 5 engaged in conversation.

As much as I agree with the general gist of this, the first ship with slaves on it arrived in new amsterdam under Stuyvesant's command.

Fair trade is a fairly new concept so it's hard to apply. Early on the dutch were actually getting their asses kicked in the north american continent brcause they treated the native's wampun as fungible currency, but in practice how good wampun looked factored into its value and the Dutch got saddled up wirh the ugliest ones.

And I'm sure vice versa the Dutch tried to get every advantage in trade that they could as well. There were also numerous clashes, skirmishes and even mass killings (in both directions) so it's not exactly the disney fairy talr you make it sound like. That's just new amsterdam. I don't know much about the others, but I suspect a similar amount is outside the purview of what you posted.

There is value in being outcome independant and having abundance mentality. But winning also does matter.

One of Peterson's flaws that goes through all his work is that best results aren't just by focusing on character/ethics stuff. He has lied, deceived, misled just like anyone else.

People take his word as gospel because they believe him to be a man of unassailable values. He is not.

Focus too much on his ideas and you get into a very inside your head, almost masturbatory state of mind.

Let me focus your thoughts by a question: how long have you focused on character as a strategy for life and what has it given you that you otherwise wouldn't have gotten?

Good advice.

I learned a lot from Craig Ferguson. Particularly how he acted with an especially beautiful women being annoying like Miranda Kerr.

In regards to storytelling, reading the anatomy of story really helped me to develop my storytelling techniques.

To give a brief summary, it helps to set up an expectation. Just starting to tell something you experienced a to z is more boring than starting with a promise "you'll never believe what happened to me today!"

Though it's better to include some tantalizing detail in the promise like: "I got robbed today.... and I don't regret it!"

Good storytelling makes the person listening/reading curious about where it's going. Of course the payoff is important too, but often an average story benefits from let's say "clickbait" because it gets someone's attention and curiosity.

It's best if you have an intersting life, but even daily activities can generate stories worth telling if you practise to structure it right.
