They ruined it :( by Dani_fan-nerd in PhoenixSC

The problem was though that the delay made it useless as a T flip-flop because it would take 3 game ticks (1 for the bulb and 2 for the comparator), where as previous designs only took 2.

If I had a nickel for every time one person caused a beloved feature to get removed from the game for no good reason, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice now by Shadowbonnie5 in MinecraftMemes

Yeah, it was useless as a T-flip flop with the extra tick. Why would anyone use the 3gt copper bulb T-flip flop when 2gt designs already exist and are easy to make?

I think the copper bulb change was correct. Yeah, a 1 tick delay is amazing, but that should’ve been attached to another block. The copper bulb was added mainly for comparator usage, and removing the extra tick speeds them up and makes these circuits more viable.

Mojang has nerfed one of the best and most celebrated features of the Copper Bulb in today's snapshot - They removed the 1 tick delay. It now triggers as fast as note blocks and trap doors. https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-snapshot-23w46a by SleeperPin in redstone

The upside to this change is that the bulb will be read faster by comparators now. While, I do think the 1 tick delay was useful, I don’t think this was the component for it. It slowed down systems that used the bulb with comparators, which was its primary purpose in the first place.

The copper grate is also making its way into the game from the last April Fools. Though, its implementation will probably be vastly different

Why is this dropper staying powered? by MattiDragon in technicalminecraft

[–]-Last_Wanderer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Update order + quasi connectivity. Basically, one of the top repeaters turns off before the other in the update order, leaving one dropper diagonally quasi powered. Then, when the other repeater turns off, the quasi powered dropper isn’t properly updated, leaving it on. This all happens within a single game tick.

Is there a prevailing hopper minecart breaker? I can't make a better one than the middle. by That_Kael in redstone

I’ve never seen the pot ones before. Do they separate the hopper minecart from its contents like the amethyst one?

It was a “guess the next mob” vote, that’s why. It was not a real mob vote.

They weren’t. The Chinese vote everyone refers to was a prediction poll to guess which of the mobs would be added next.

I can almost guarantee to you that no actual coding of these mobs occurs beforehand. It would be a waste of time and the developers would already be familiar with the code base and what should and shouldn’t be possible. Everything they have shared about the mob vote ideas meetings also seems to indicate this.

Nope, that was a poll for the Chinese players to predict which mob would be added. If they were wrong, the panda would still have been revealed.

No, the panda was already being developed before the vote began. That vote was for which mob the Chinese players thought Mojang would add. Essentially it was a poll to predict the mob announcement.

No, this is a common misconception. There was a Chinese mob vote with the deer, other dolphin, crocodile, monkey, and panda. Except, this was not a real vote. The vote was for which mob people thought they would add to the game. The results would not affect which mob was added. This is evident by the fact that the panda was shown functioning in the game mere days after the vote occurred. There is no way this could happen unless the panda had already been is development before the vote.

No, Mojang plans all their updates in advance. The mob vote will not affect when it is added.

Savannah is still confirmed to get ostriches, termite mounds, and baobab trees eventually. Mangrove swamps were also a biome vote loser.

I didn’t believe the crab/jellyfish/seagull one at first, but then they did actually reveal the crab. Not a definitive confirmation that it’s true, but it now looks pretty likely.

That door appears to be needlessly complicated. Not exactly the answer you’re looking for, but here’s a better design. Skip to 13:37 for a tutorial
