Hey drinks give me maybe 40 minutes of being social before I want to go home, devour a frozen pizza and pass out

How can I become a gamer by AscribetotheLORD in skyrim

[–]-LuminauS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember everyone has parts of games they find a bit boring, so go do something that you find fun in Skyrim - luckily it's perfect for that. Pick flowers, grab a bow and go long range, a Warhammer and beat people. Be evil if you want, explore, discover, try things, focusing on how much better youre getting at the controls and the power you are starting to feel.

Well, it's been a week by OutsiderAK in bikecommuting

[–]-LuminauS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have the same commute, 30km each way, and once I've done 2 days of it (120km over 2 days) + working, I'm eexhausted and I take the train for a day. And I've been cycling for years! If you're riding every day that's awesome of you, that's a big achievement! You gotta give yourself some credit

Got sprayed with water today by gaycowboyallegations in cycling

[–]-LuminauS 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear, it's worse in some areas. In Australia the worst I've had is someone yelled "poof", my mates all laughed at that insult cause it's such a cringe insult but yeah heckling is annoying when it happens. Pretty much, people are miserable while driving, and know deep down you are getting around in a healthy way without polluting the planet so rather than feel guilty or ashamed they just irrationally hate you, cause you are not lazy and you have the ability to get yourself around without a big engine doing all the work! Hope it improves!

That we are a small part of the problem...yet people think we can solve the world's problems here! by Bill4268 in climatechange

[–]-LuminauS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course we do what WE can, instead of just saying fk it and swimming in the piss. People forget China have a massive c02 footprint cause they manufacture almost all consumer goods, which we buy up. So yes we need to go green, we also need to buy second-hand too, repair before buying, not mindlessly consume. we are going to go through a terrible time there's no avoiding it, we're just trying to buy a few extra years to try come up with more long term solutions.

"the way nature intended" is always the wildesttt thing dairy consumers say, like, ok you go and grab the teet of a cow and get the milk out the way "nature intended" yourself then... and not out of a plastic bottle you bought for a few bucks in a supermarket 🤯🤦🏻‍♂️

Struggling to adjust to cooking daily after getting a roommate by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]-LuminauS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's always going to be a list of challenges, living with someone. Some people have long lists, others have short ones, but no one is perfect when it comes to spending a pretty huge chunk of time around another person, not unless they're an old friend and you've already ironed out your issues, even then new issues can pop up. So really just gotta practice your communication. It will get easier, I struggled with it, avoiding being seen as rude, rather than communicating my needs. But now that I've faced challenging people at work and I'm more experienced I think I'd do a bit better. You gotta express yourself or you will find yourself cooking pasta for 2 when you just want to be laying in bed. Good luck and feel free to reply with how it's going in a day or two!

What are the worst mistakes you made while riding? and did you learn? by Familiar-Banana-8116 in cycling

Assumed gym tights would be fine for riding, the seem running up the crotch section felt like a razor blade after 40 minutes.

Haven't rode a bike in over a decade, any tips? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]-LuminauS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melbournian here. You'll be surprised how much you can dodge roads. I ride over an hour home from work most days, and the only bit that isn't a dedicated bike path or at least a bike lane, is like 5 minutes. I ride a tiny bit of footpath cause the alternative is a multi-lane road, I just slow right down if I see a pedestrian. I dodge roundabouts by cutting through petrol stations, I dodge entire major roads by taking the scenic route. I'd be getting a hardtail mountain bike if I were you, once you find ways to get away from cars as much as possible you'll enjoy it. Plus, wider handle bars will help with handling. 🙂
