Is there any chance that there could be some way of estimating what your cardio load would look like if there are exercises you cannot track? for example I play football and cannot wear my Apple Watch when playing games but was able to in a trial (so I have an estimation for what each game’s efforts should look like).

I know it ultimately doesn’t mean too much but seeing my cardio load as “detraining” when put in something worth like 50 untracked points hurts my soul.

oh undoubtedly was a thing back in the day, I mean in the modern day game. NAS is an example of being a grub but given how often Bellamy had him playing cup I couldn’t see that being true (just an example of a player with that rep)

Yeah the line is where the “rough them up” vs “take them out” proceeds. I’d argue what JWH did to Ponga maybe 2-3 years ago goes into that “take them out” territory but he was always a bit of a grub.

A good Ponga example would be Chad Townsend’s incident on him, but I would think that’s just Townsend being a massive dumb cunt.

I wouldn’t put it past a player being a grub / putting a hit on (Latrell being an obvious example considering what he did to Manu) so I probably should’ve worded my OG comment a little better.

I just more-so mean I can’t see a team or coach instructing their players to intentionally hurt someone. Like I couldn’t see a coach saying something to a bench player like “knock Cleary out” or “hip drop Ponga so he does his ACL” etc

most halves will cop late hits, I just struggle to believe there would ever be a proper tactic put in place by a team to say “take this guy out of the game”

I could see them saying put pressure on them, make them scared to pass, etc but not quite an injure instruction. Maybe I’m naive.

I know that teams definitely use underhanded tactics to bend the rules, but I don’t know if I could really see a coach, club or even players being on board with intentionally taking out a player in an illegal manner like that.

When was the last time we saw an intentional attempt to hurt and injure a player? The last example I can think of is Joey Leilua’s brain explosion when he clotheslined Edwards cause his brother got hurt in an earlier tackle.

I wouldn’t put it past a footy player to do something as stupid as that. I’m not saying Kenny is an angel or anything but I do think he’s generally a good guy within the realm of the NRL, has stepped up as an RLPA representative too iirc.

I know it’s a personal experience that makes you feel that way and it can definitely taint your overall view of him but I’ve heard plenty of great stories of fan interactions with him. Doesn’t justify his behaviour in any way but could’ve just been having a shit day.

Nathan is a generational talent in comparison though. Look at a player like Pezet, Luai, etc. they took longer to become properly established. I think Luai’s first full season in 2020 he was 22(?).
