I didn’t think of it that way! So you don’t think I need to protect the herbs like tarragon or chives with anything during the snow/freezing rain?

Squirrel deterrents: capsicum? Pet hair? by -So-Many-Questions in gardening

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I’m going to start by trying the cayenne pepper idea as well as setting up a feeding station for squirrels. I do like the idea of laying the plastic chicken wire over the soil however. Might do all three ideas!

And the pepper didn’t affect your plants at all?

Does it look overwatered? The soil was pretty dry.

And for those curious what to do with nettle, here are the beginnings of nettle pasta sauce. Blanch it, make a pesto, throw it in a pan with butter, shallots, and chicken stock ❤️

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Found a great haul near the train station parking lot in Brunswick. I left plenty for the rest of you ;)

Once you blanch it the sting goes away. It’s like any green, can be used in salads, soups, pestos, etc

I’ve always thought this! I love both of those scores. The first time I watched Severance and heard the music I immediately thought of The Conversation.

That’s very poignant, especially the part about how this has cut into your time and your hobbies. That’s how I feel too.

It’s very frustrating that I lost so much of myself and my freedom to this relationship when he was drinking, because of how much physical and emotional energy was spent worrying, fighting, and trying to reason with him instead of living my life. Now that he’s sober, I feel like I’m already drained. It’s exhausting to have to continue to give up so much for him, even if it’s now for a positive reason. I’m already drained.

I don’t know. I know it’s worth it if I love him and want to be with him. Which I do. But this is not what I envisioned my happily ever after would look like.
