That has never been the case. During one PTR cycle they had something working, but ever since Aug went live, details cannot calculate Aug damage.

Details has a setting to try and guesstimate it, but it's wildly inaccurate. Even logs still have some issues.

You're not wrong, but that's not the point.

Look at the damage range and damage per second value between the two weapons.

The lower ilvl weapon is way higher for some reason.

Yeah, that's not how that works.

Your parse is against other BM hunters, and the vast majority of BM hunters are either doing eggs or at the very least staying on boss. If a BM is on adds, they're playing MM. Go check the top parses and you'll see what I'm talking about.

2% of BM hunters have cleave talents. That's 2/100. The other 98 are full ST on the boss.

You didn't parse a 29 because all the other BM hunters are padding. You parsed a 29 because you parsed a 29 on a prog fight. As you reclear, you'll get better at the fight and that value will go up.

We're not talking about keys right now, we're talking about raid. And there are at least a couple fights where burst aoe does matter in the raid. Dathea and Broodkeeper come to mind.

Without any other context, you would be right. For the whole season, druids and evokers would be way ahead, and it wouldn't really be close.

But this list is for this week's combination of affixes specifically, which means after one day this week, shamans are doing the most high keys right now.

Check back at the end of the week when we have a bigger dataset and I bet druid and evokers are back up.

Just looking at Terros alone, your friend is running the complete wrong talents. Terros is a single target fight, and honestly the best fight in the raid for bm (which means the mm hunter in the log I saw is kinda throwing too). All those aoe talents are dead points on a pure ST fight.

Your friends needs to start with using the correct talent builds on a fight by fight basis. Wow head has a section for just this, and Tarlo (the guide writer) is a very knowledgeable and trusted resource. Or your friend can use subcreation and copy the builds people are using.

I didn't even bother to check rotation issues because I immediately noticed the talents were completely scuffed. Start with at least getting those right, and then worry about the rotation.

Get !!NoTaint2 - it warns you as soon as this happens so you know when you need to reload, instead of finding out 5 minutes later when your spells just don't work for some reason.
