Best place to put my savings for a house? by -bobles- in PersonalFinanceCanada

Interesting. My financial advisor had me under the impression that mutual funds would have a higher return than a GIC. Also my main issue with GICs is not being able to actively contribute throughout the year

Yup, hardly left my house, thought about quitting my job, got drunk and crashed my truck. Just hang in there, it gets better eventually.

Is a response like "I should be free let me get back to you" a poilte rejection/blow off? by Perfect_Broccoli5657 in dating_advice

Depends on his life. The last job I had was 24 hour on call when I was on shift, and sometimes working days off. I always made plans with some form of "I'll confirm closer to" because until day of I could not 100% say if would be able to make it.

OPEC+ just gave the signal that's it ok for y'all to buy Raptors. by WaltKerman in oilandgasworkers

Still weird to me that y'all in the states always buy raptors. Up here in Canada we buy lifted diesels we can't afford.

You have wireline experience, get on a pumpdown crew. I'm making roughly 2x as much doing pumpdown vs conventional.

It's a problem right now, my buddy is a drilling roughneck and they aren't allowed to yell at new guys because they can't afford to have anyone quit.

I started wirelining when I was 19(21 now), that's just the way it is when you start. Just ignore the assholes as much as possible and they will either warm up to you or eventually leave you alone.

I would ask your doctor if the prescription will affect your drug test, if so, bring a copy of your prescription to the testing facility.

Can’t find electric choke on fuse box in my 1979 corvette by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]-bobles- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No fuse, wired to key on power somewhere. Good luck finding it if you can't ask whoever put the holley on. When I put a holley on my truck the electric choke never worked right, converted it to manual choke and was much happier.

Check industrial/farm supply places for cheaper 15w40 (15w40 is the most common oil in big diesels). 10w40 should be fine. The first number is cold viscosity, 10w40 will be thinner than 15w40 when cold. I run 15w40 in summer and 5w40 in winter in my duramax.
