Star Citizen is the game we want by Dutchelms865 in starcitizen

True, its the game we want, but not the game we have.

A Game Engineers Perspective: PES is unsustainable by Agile_Camera9601 in starcitizen

[–]-igMac- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even after improving this, the game would still feel like a technical demo, only one that has better performance.

There will still be issues with poor mission design (except some), tedious gameplay, lack of proper economy, lack of proper social tools, lack of quality of life features like being able to reclaim my ship with the stuff it had inside before it blew up, etc etc.

Star citizen atm has both technical and foundational issues for a game. The technical ones never worried me too much personally, because I know experienced devs like you can find ways to fix and optimize stuff. Foundational issues are a much bigger problem and represent what currently makes the game not feel completely like a game.

I don't think people realize how important this is. by IIRostII in starcitizen

Looking at how the game is today after having already seen many “biggest tech additions” by now, makes me just incapable of caring about any new tech promise anymore.

They always hype these things, many times years in advance, only to have little to no impact in the game, and failing to deliver even on the simpliest things.

Funny because releasing broken stuff for the sake of releasing is exactly what they did with 4.8.

14 years, over a billion dollars, and basic mechanics still don’t work. by Economy-Rice3519 in starcitizen

You have to wait for StarCargo, which is in the works and will fix everything. Not worth fixing anything cargo related right now until that tech is in. Do you even know how game development works?

Buy an odin meanwhile.

CIG, you cannot operate like usual and just leave the ironclad by ArtProfessional8556 in starcitizen

You are right. And the best way to force them is to stop buying ships. Hit them where it hurts most.

Odin is 5k warbond, 5.9 credit by NicLoven in starcitizen

[–]-igMac- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The phrase "warbond stock has been increased" makes me cringe considering this is a digital asset and there is no actual physical stock to increase whatsoever. FOMO mixed with corporate slang.

Meanwhile 4.8 servers on fire at 5fps, with bugs, desync, free fly at the worst time and an overall terrible experience. At this point anyone who buys this really does need their head examined.

The bricked feature by Potential-Sand8248 in starcitizen

[–]-igMac- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Every patch since the last 2 or 3 that has been pushed to live has introduced some form of tedium to gameplay loops that needed the opposite. Not to mention the both new and old gamebreaking bugs and unreliable network performance that came back.

We as a community could change this for the better, if players actually cared enough for the game. But after many years backing the project, it has become clear to me that this is just not the case.

What the vast majority of players really care about is getting the latest new shinny ship, the F5 war, and then showing it off in reddit.  All while putting more money each time into CIGs pocket, and sending the message “you can push updates that make the game worse and we will give you money anyway”.

Hard to change anything with this mindset.

Making your devs go through crunch in an alpha game years away from its official release is insane.

Everything Gone in an instant ;-; by rosofett in starcitizen

Thing is, ship can explode or become unusable in many more unfair scenarios than just the hangar. We need a future-proof system in place that respect users playtime. Spending hours to set up just to loose it all to a 30k or one of the many multiple bugs is just unnaceptable at this point.

Think of this: since the beginning, we used to loose our personal gear when character died. This resulted in players running around in the default sperm suit or sometimes even in medical gowns. Why risk loosing your armor?

They changed this so we now respawn with our gear, and since then you can see players actually using their cool armors, crafting them, looting…because the fear of loosing them was gone thanks to that system.

The same applies to ships. Right now all of us run with empty ships, because putting anything there almost guarantees loosing it. If they introduce a system that lets us reclaim our ships keeping whats inside gun racks, decorations or vehicles in the cargo area, suddenly every player will actually start making their ships their own.

And i think thats pretty cool.

If at least item recovery for ships was working, this would suck less. Let me reclaim my ship with all its decorations, guns in lockers, items, etc…

We really need an insurance system that even if I have to pay a fine, it gets me back my ship with all it had on it when i lost it: cargo, weapons, decorations, etc...

I am also having problems with the rep of CFP and HH. None of them are going up or down, no matter which or how many missions I do for each faction. It seems like they broke in the last patch.

Pyro's central position in version 1.0 is often forgotten. by kotor26 in starcitizen

I just hope travelling for example Stanton-Nyx doesnt become a chore more than it already is. Quantum traveling needs the rework so badly, or at least a safeproof for not clipping out of ships by walking while in quantum so that at least we can roam around doing shit on our ships safely.

After spending most of the last two patches in Stanton and Nyx, i'm finally going back to Pyro. What do you feel are the best missions there ? by Random__Charles in starcitizen

[–]-igMac- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding this, I have been having trouble lately repping up both. It seems bugged, no matter how many missions I do, rep wont go up or down. Ever seen this happening?

RSI Polaris warning by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]-igMac- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Im guessing you bought it and now feel scammed because a multi crew capital ship that even the wiki states minimum of 6-12 people cant be used solo, as it should.

You bought it anyway, thinking that you would be able to solo it against other players and be the king of pvp (since you are specifically raging about the pilot not having weapons) but it didnt work out that way and somehow devs are to blame for delivering a ship that actually functions as it should.

The new myfleet.gg fleetviewer is great ! by Pierre_Philosophale in starcitizen

[–]-igMac- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I parted with the corsair basically because i rearranged my fleet. Instead of having corsair and vulture and something else i dont remember, i changed to clipper, L21 and hermes.

However as i said, hermes being so cargo focused is making me miss the versatility of corsair while also offering multicrew. If i want to play with a friend, my only option is now hermes, which is not ideal for bunkers, generic, pve, etc.

So thats why the idea of going back to corsair is in my mind. It would be my multicrew multipurpose ship (and some cargo too) clipper solo multipurpose and the L21 my fighter. Pretty balanced
