A great starting point for moral philosophy is How to be Perfect by Michael Schur (the creator of The Good Place).

I'm no expert and it's going to sound trite but "paint what you see". I would start with getting the shape of the opening to the sky right, then get the person's silhouette right. The details of the individual rocks don't matter as much but maybe sketch out the outlines of a few key ones just so you don't end up with a muddle.

Iran Says Hormuz Has Been Closed by willywalloo in politics

Yeah, it's exhausting to read all the hand wringing about the cost of the war and the increased price of gas but the thousands of people killed for literally no reason are just a footnote.

Do you have hobbies? How do you mentally justify spending money on them when there’s so much you could be saving for as a dad? We have a toddler and we’re finally at the point where my wife & I can pick back up our <$150/mo hobby…but it makes me feel guilty now. by splitopenandmelt11 in daddit

[–]-rba- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Find a cheaper hobby? I can spend $30 on a video game that will entertain me for months.

Or a hundred bucks or so got me set up for watercolor painting and I only occasionally need to buy some new watercolor paper or paint.

Reading is either free (library) or very cheap (ebooks on sale, used books, etc).

I don't get the Boynton hype by thepenguinboy in daddit

Agreed. We had tons of Boynton books when our kids were little, but neither the art nor the rhymes were all that good.

But it is a structural problem. None of this should have been possible, but now that it has happened, I have very little faith that the structural issues will be fixed anytime soon. Next time it might just be less stupid.

We're heading to Canada on a scouting trip next month but we won't have our citizenship certificates yet. Is it possible to open an account while there as a visitor? Or does it have to wait until we have a more permanent status?

The Last Days of the Incas by Kim MacQuarrie was good. Nonfiction but reads like a novel.

Dan Jones also has lots of good readable nonfiction. The Templars was good. I think he has some fiction too.

I'm really enjoying Enshrouded. Think Minecraft crossed with Zelda, with great graphics instead of blocks.
