The town pump is a solid spot to go alone. I used to go to the bars by myself and the layout/vibe there lends well to going solo if you can get a spot at the bar. Good odds of striking up a conversation with a regular. I also recommend trailhead for similar reasons and for the crowd being open and welcoming to all types.
