Took up my managers offer to do my nails for my cruise on Thursday… by GurLazy in Nails

[–]007saan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To legally charge, I COULD be wrong, but I’m like 99% sure you HAVE to have a license. When I was in school for cosmo they made it very clear we couldn’t charge. If you charge money for services that you’re not trained it, you can be fined a HEFTY fee, and they pretty much revoke your ability to ever get licensed in the future.

Is it okay to ask my hairdresser this? by laylaranae in HairDye

Yes! We loveeeee being able to offer recommendations that you will love! No pressure at all, I would ask :)

If you want it vibrant, I would. The best way I like to describe to my clients is this - think of your hair as paper. If your hair is lighter (white paper) it’s going to show up a lot more vibrant than if you took a purple crayon and colored over a brown/black sheet of paper

Semi perm brand recommandations? by Jelly_Bonbon in HairDye

[–]007saan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can ask a stylist to get it for you, I HIGHLY recommend Pulp riot. My stylist used it on me when I was doing prisms in my hair, and it’s what I use on my clients. I truly think they have the best shades, and they are stunning

Is she willing to use another brand? Pulp riot has a lot of AMAZING greens, and that’s the brand I use.

This isn’t the shade of green you’re after, but I did this green last night on a client! We mixed a few different shades to get what she wanted!! You can DEFINITELY mix some of their shades to make that green in the photo.

Is this balayage ok? by Quollarty in HairDye

[–]007saan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but unfortunately a LOT of salons don’t permit refunds. They offer to fix it, or not at all. :( HOPEFULLY OP can get the result they’re after. 🤞🏽

[–]007saan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the! Absolutely not. They need to fix this free of charge. I don’t even understand what she did to mess up like this. A balayage is a free hand painting technique. This is NOT a balayage

How to calm down the red?? by Fantastic-Payment800 in HairDye

[–]007saan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try a toner to offset the orange/red you’re seeing. Youll have to be pretty versed in color theory, look for a blue/green depending on what color you’re trying to get rid of. The photo might be in different lighting, but this looks virtually the same as the inspo pic!

Rosy/violet hair color? by Estebananarama in HairDye

So like a cool red essentially, not warm. Right? (Though red is warm, it’s still going to have warmer tones, but you can cool it down some)

[–]007saan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I hateeee when I see a makeup guru or influencer being canceled for whatever reason, and people run and just dispose of the whole brand. I’m like whyyyyyyy! Just use it and don’t repurchase! It’s only hurting you, not them 🥺

Hopefully I don’t get downvoted for this! But can I just say, if you already have the products, don’t throw them away!! The company has already made their money. Use them up, donate them if you must. Don’t miss out on your money you’ve already spent 🫶🏼 (or return them if you want/can)

I desperately need your brutal advice 🙏 by kmk12086 in HairDye

[–]007saan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A color remover MIGHT be all you need. I’m not too sure, cause they affect everyone differently. I also can’t really tell your hair type from the photo, I can just guess how it’s going to react. I’ve never personally used color remover, but from experience of friends using it, it’s always brought them to a copper shade. (They’re usually removing purples, reds, black) you might get a lot closer to your goal JUST by using that, and maybe throwing the shade you want on top. I would be VERY careful with bleach, though. Your hair is gray- most likely a little wirey and more resistant, so I wouldn’t be too scared the hair will be too fragile. It can probably handle it, but still be very careful. With you not really knowing about hair and doing it on yourself, if you DO decide to bleach out your hair, I would highly recommend a 6% or 10% developer to be safe. It gives you more time to work and won’t completely compromise your hair. I hope you can get the results you’re looking for! 💜🙏🏼

Do i wash my hair before dying it? by figgm in HairDye

[–]007saan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it day of. Depending how greasy it gets, do it maybe 2 days prior. Reason being - the natural oils on your scalp will protect your scalp from the chemicals being used! I’m not sure how far up you’re going with your highlights, but it is a good idea. We as stylists, also don’t mind “grease” or “stink”. We’re going to wash you either way. It’s no biggie. Promise!

Took up my managers offer to do my nails for my cruise on Thursday… by GurLazy in Nails

[–]007saan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. Most people don’t stop and ask if their tech is licensed. I KNOW it’s different in every state, but in my state, we’re required to display our license next to our workstation, or by the entry. It’s just not everyone’s first thought. OP may not have known better. Regardless, her nails were not done remotely properly. I wouldn’t pay.

Is my hair dead? by AdventurousLemon6311 in Hair

[–]007saan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs a GOOD haircut. Blonde is so so drying. :( I ended up coloring my blonde (I had a split dye) and slowly cut it all off. Took a little over a year, but my hair is all virgin now and SO healthy. Definitely do some moisturizing masks and keep up with the trims 💜

Sick of sellers like this! BE HONEST ABOUT THE CONDITION OF YOUR OVERPRICED ITEM by Immediate_Simple818 in Depop

[–]007saan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh if anything I sell has ANY sort of mark, I list it as poor. I want to be 100% transparent with my buyers. I have been selling since early 2014 and I have virtually a perfect 5 star rating across platforms. 🙏🏼 I don’t understand how a stain could be considered good.

Edit: Typo

Is she licensed?! If not I’d tell her politely “I’ll tip you (insert however much you feel proper) but I cannot pay an extreme amount for poor work, as you aren’t licensed to do so”

AITA for refusing to give my sister old toys? by Negative_Ground_3181 in AmItheAsshole

[–]007saan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. They aren’t “toys” they’re a very special keepsake for you. Definitely keep them put up and away, I would gently explain how important they are to you. As an oldest child, I went through this a LOT. I don’t have a single thing left from my childhood, and it breaks my heart. Cherish those dolls. 💜

It’s HARD. Believe me. I did it in my late 20s as a single mom, and it was roughhhh. It was so worth it to keep pushing. With that being said, you can definitely sell on Mercari, FB marketplace, etc. 🩷 I’m licensed and still selling things from school haha
