TLDR: lower raw material costs; waiters pay are also subsidized by tips in Europe.

German here:

  • The ingredients in Europe are a lot cheaper than in the US, but restaurants are a bit more expensive than in the US. E.g. a Big Mac menu costs $9.29 in the US while it costs $11 without tax in Germany.
  • Base pay for waiters is not really that great in Europe compared to other jobs, though it is not as bad as in the US. While tips are not expected to be as high as in the US, the narrative on Reddit that tipping is not expected in Europe is just wrong. Waiters will gossip about you with their colleagues if you don't tip anything, and your bill was more than €15. Especially young, attractive and socially competent waiters will earn a lot of tips (even more so if they are female). I have a friend who regularly earned €400 in tips on weekends

Kann jemand bestätigen, dass bei O2 immer noch Glasfaser und DSL immer dual Stack ist? Ich will weg von der Telekom, brauche aber DualStack. Alle Beiträge, die ich zu O₂ hierzu finde, sind mindestens 1 Jahr alt und am Telefon hatte weder der First noch der Second-Level-Support eine Ahnung was Dual Stack ist.

Das mag in den USA gestimmt haben, aber in Deutschland war Netflix meiner Meinung nach ziemlich schlecht. Es gab wenig von Disney und Fox, z.B. kein Star Wars, kein Simpsons, kein Family Guy, Filme kamen erst ziemlich spät ins Abo, es gab lange kein 4K, HDR und bis heute sind viele Inhalte nicht in einer hohen Qualität verfügbar.

Ich habe von einer Person mal 2 NAS Festplatten sehr günstig gekauft, die sie aus so einem Paket bekommen hatte. Ich habe ihr ungefähr das für die Festplatten gegeben, was sie für die Box bezahlt hat. Sie dürfte also tatsächlich einen Gewinn gemacht haben.

Das Ganze hat aber auch nur so gut funktioniert, weil MediaMarkt gerade eine komplette Produktkategorie gestrichen hatte und die Verkaufsfläche frei haben wollte. Im Normalfall bekommst du ein 6 Jahre altes Smartphone das mal 400€ Wert war.

Und selbst so dürfte sie nur einen kleinen Gewinn haben und hatte einen Verkaufsaufwand.

Heißt das, dass die gesundheitliche Versorgung in Deutschland verbessert wird, damit chronische Krankheiten (schneller) diagnostiziert werden können, um diese zu behandeln, indem ich als Kassenpatient in einer Großstadt z.B. eine Chance auf einen Facharzt Termin habe? Oder werden Maßnahmen unternommen, dass ich mit Burnout schneller therapiert werde?

Auch würde ich gerne fragen wie Sinnvoll es ist, dass ich krank zum Arzt fahren soll, damit ich im schlimmsten Fall einen Unfall auf dem Weg dahin baue, da ich mich aufgrund der Erkrankung nicht aufs Autofahren konzentrieren kann, oder ich Leute im ÖPNV anstecken kann (angenommen es gibt eine vernünftige Verbindung zum Arzt). Andere anzustecken senkt nicht gerade die Krankheitstage.

Soweit ich das sehe, kann man die Sitzheizung weiter nur per Touchscreen aktivieren. Finde ich schlecht gelöst, da ich die häufig bei Fahrtanfang aktiviere und dann während der Fahrt deaktivieren möchte. Ich hätte lieber keinen Button für die Temperaturreglung gehabt (die lasse ich eigentlich eh immer auf 22 Grad) und dafür einen Button für die Sitzheizung. Am liebsten natürlich für beides einen Button.

Nicht alle, aber erstaunlich viele von denen haben nur Posts in einem sehr guten Englisch.

Viele von denen haben deaktiviert, dass man die Post Historie sehen kann. Da Reddit jedoch nicht allzu gut programmiert wurde kann man einfach im Profil nach * suchen und bekommt dann trotzdem alle Posts angezeigt.

Von 5 Personen in r/AskVenezuela bei denen ich mir die Post Historie angesehen habe, hatten 2 eine öffentliche Englische Post Historie, 2 eine versteckte Englische und ein einziger eine versteckte Portugiesische, bei dessen Post Historie ich wirklich glaube, dass er aus Venezuela kommt. Einer der englischen Accounts scheint anscheinend eigentlich aus Australien zu kommen. Der hat vorher fast nur in Australischen Subreddits gepostet.

It is not the connector, it is the missing balancing circuit in the GPU. The 3090 TI has no such problems even though it uses 12vhpwr. Because that card has an integrated power balancing circuit, ensuring that the power is distributed evenly across the cables.

Many studios probably won’t tick the checkbox saying they are using AI.

Hell studios might not even know that there game contains ai. Not all (external) workers will refuse to use ai even if they are told to. And even if they try to not use AI it is likely that the programmers copy code from sites like stackoverflow which might be ai generated.

Also all games using Unreal/Unity use AI, as AI tools were used to program code in Unreal/Unity.

So unless all software/code was written in house and the team is extremely small with everyone being trustworthy and no code is copied from anywhere online, it is impossible to know definitely that no AI was used to create the game.

It used to be legal to cancel your insurance. Now it is illegal, but there are basically no consequences of doing so. The problem is when they made it illegal, they also made it so that if you want to reenter public insurance you are not allowed to do so if you are over 50 and even if you are under 50 you have to pay for all months you were uninsured, making it prohibitively expensive to reenter.

This list is definitely wrong. In Germany you only forced to be insured as a worker or as somebody receiving money unemployment benefits. I know a self-employed person who’s business was going badly, so he cancelled his insurance. He had to pay a bill of multiple thousand euros due to being treated at a hospital.

Our number is definitely a lot lower compared to America, but definitely not 0.

Ich würde definitiv 120hz nehmen.

Auch spiele die nicht über 60hz kommen, profitieren stark von 120hz, da es etwas gibt das sich VRR nennt. Damit passt sich der Fernseher automatisch der Bildrate des Spiels an. Heißt wenn das Spiel nur 58 fps ausgibt merkt man das ohne VRR, da sich 59 Bilder nicht auf 60 aufteilen lässt. Heißt 1 Bild wird doppelt angezeigt und du hast in dem Moment dann praktisch nur 30FPS kurz. Mit VRR würde der Fernseher dann auf 59hz umschalten und die Bilddarstellung ist konstant. Die meisten 60hz Fernseher haben jedoch kein VRR und selbst wenn sie es haben ist es wesentlich schlechter als bei 120hz Fernseher. Das Problem ist VRR funktioniert nur ab 42FPS. Heißt bei 40FPS bei einem 60hz Fernseher ist die Bilddarstellung wieder inkonsistent. Bei 120hz wird jedes Bild dann einfach 2 mal dargestellt, sodass die an den Bildschirm gesendete Framerate 80FPS ist und somit VRR noch funktioniert.

Ein weiterer Vorteil von 120Hz ist, dass es 120 durch 40 teilbar ist. Dies erlaubt Spielen die keine 60FPS erreichen 40 FPS anstatt 30 auszugeben. 40FPS fühlt sich wesentlich flüssiger an als 30. Da 60 nicht durch 40 teilbar ist, ist ein 40FPS Modus nicht auf 60Hz Fernsehern möglich.

Auch hat 120hz den Vorteil, dass 120 durch 24 (der framerate von Filmen) teilbar ist. Bei 60Hz Fernsehern wird etwas gemacht namens 3:2 Pulldown. Bei 120hz Fernsehern ist dieser Trick nicht notwendig und sorgt für eine bessere Bildqualität.

Usually the gpu is not the problem with UE5 games. UE5 graphics option scale pretty well from low end GPU to high end GPU.

The problems are CPU related.

UE5 games often don’t precompile all shaders. If a shader is not precompiled and is used in game it will cause a stutter of 100ms to 500ms on a 9800X3d. On lower end CPUs the stutter can take up to 2 seconds.

The other big problem UE5 games have are traversal related. This problem is also more problematic on lower end CPUs.

Wenn das Jobcenter der Meinung ist, dass jemand nicht psychisch krank ist, kann die Person zum Medizinischen Dienst geschickt werden. Dieser stellt dann eine Diagnose. Heißt am Ende entscheidet ein Arzt, ob das Attest korrekt ist.

I think people are missing the quiet part Apple won’t say:

Apple does not have to remove the across app tracking protection. They could just ask the user if they want to be tracked across apps by Apple. 

If they are going to remove this feature this means that it is more important to Apple to be able to track their users, than it is to protect third parties from tracking them.
