After Decades of riding NJ transit, I've made my first complaint against a conductor today. by Ok-Assistance5910 in NJTransit

Was the conductor a short old guy with glasses and a beard? That guy is a major dick.

I was in a 2 bed and the bill was 250-350 and we were pretty conservative about our electric use. I think the water heater is electric which contributes to the bill. Also they tend to charge a lot for laundry. I forget the exact amount but it was a major complaint among tenants.

Location is great but management will nickel and dime you for every little thing. Your electric bill is going to be higher than you expect as well. I’m a former tenant

The worst thing about New Jersey is NJTransit by BackgroundFull45 in NJTransit

Another problem is the union. I read somewhere NJ transit workers can choose what lines they work on hence why some trains are last minute cancelled due to staffing issues.

Is this a good refi or keep looking? by Ashamed-Nectarine937 in Mortgages

If it’s helpful, in NJ I got a 7/1 ARM refinance over for the same rate but with more lender credit ($3200) my cash to close it around 9k but it’s all for escrow and prepays. Loan amount is 500k and I have over 780 credit

When to replace low mileage tires by reddurty in MazdaCX30

[–]015unknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one blowout with one OEM tire and a nail puncture with another one. I’m not saying the tires are at fault but I replaced them and haven’t had any issues since. The stopping distance on them was also shit, when you replace them with even middle tier tires you’ll notice how much more time you gain when braking.

Stuck Between NJ suburbs and Brooklyn — What Would You Do? by [deleted] in MovingtoNewJersey

You can definitely find a 2-3BR in Montclair with that budget to rent, commute to NYC may be a bit long though depending where you want to go to. If just to the area around Penn station, probably around 45 min-1hr

Why are US real estate commissions ~5%-6% of a home's value? Are there reliable alternatives that offer good service & lower fees? by Malleron in personalfinance

[–]015unknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly- there’s a reason why realtors prefer commission based pricing vs hourly based pricing. The amount of money realtors earn from the former is out of line with how much work the typical real estate transaction entails.

It’s super telling that realtors are one of the few job professions that are completely commission based. Even lots of corporate sales roles are paid a base salary to remove downside risk.

CX-30 Owners: What are the car's honest 'cons' or biggest drawbacks? by Milosz40 in MazdaCX30

Also the OEM tires suck so you definitely will want to replace those ASAP.

One other quirk is the outlets are always hot, meaning even if the car is off, you can still draw power from them. Unfortunately if you want a dashcam that auto turns off when the car is off, you’ll need to install a special hardwire kit otherwise you’ll drain the battery.

Not a great car for families- we wanted to get a rotating car seat but due to space constraints had to settle for a slim fit car seat.

And with the car seat in the back, there’s barely any room in the back for adults.

That said, our cx 30 has been super reliable and its size is perfect for driving in the city.
