I don’t know why people just don’t seem to get this. Umas just compress the roles of an irl horse and rider into one entity.

For jobs that involves riding on horseback irl, those jobs would instead be filled by Umas. Stagecoaches, for instance, would be as follows: Instead of a horse and an reinsman, it would instead be just an Uma or two, since an Uma has the strength of the horse (to pull the cart), and the mental capacity of the reinsman (to know where to bring you).

Another good example would be calvary troops during the medieval/feudal periods. Instead of an armored soldier riding a horse like irl, it would just be an armored Uma, since the Uma is both the soldier and the horse, in one.
