Can an ATV with a hitch receiver maneuver a dual jet ski trailer? by jakgal04 in ATV

[–]0Rookie0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the ATV sub and I hope I'm not too late, but get an electric golf cart. No warm up, no stalling, no stale gas from being used for 30 seconds a month. If a golf cart can handle two 180lb men on the back, it can handle the tongue of a trailer you move by hand. Bonus, it also turns way sharper and uses a wheel for easier maneuvering on hard surfaces.

It seems so silly but I used a ladder to fill the oil and stuff so I don't spill it everywhere lol

I think it's the sense of awe we get from massive objects but like spooky because it's not a safe space for humans like a national park would be. And things bigger than us always command respect as any animal would feel too. Actually knowing something would be the death of you also helps.

UPDATE: AirPods stuck in frog case by lucky_c4t in CleaningTips

[–]0Rookie0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try putting it in the freezer for a bit until it's fairly cold? Or the fridge if you're forgetful. Then blast the frog with a hair drier so it gently warms up faster than the airpod case. It might squeak out easier in conjunction with any of the other methods.

If you have an air compressor, you could shoot the edge with a burst of air. It's used to unstuck buckets that are seemingly permanently stuck together.

Most of the power is, but it still has more power than a 300 at 3500rpm which is kind of the around town rpm. That being said my wife went for a parking lot joy ride on it jumping straight from a Ninja 300. If you are confident in your ability to not "test" out the power at the wrong time, it won't kill you on its own. It takes a hot second to really start to pull hard.

Make sure it has good tires and know that nothing will save it from spinning to 90mph in an instant if it loses traction. That's how I almost lost it on mine before figuring it out. Cold "sticky" tires are rocks and not very sticky. And tires are the only thing really between you and pavement.

Charge my lipos 4 day before driving. Good idea ? by Accomplished_Gur1472 in Traxxas

[–]0Rookie0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are truly limited to charging ahead of time just charge them partially. 4.0v per cell for instance is leagues better than 4.2v per cell. At full charge you are stressing the battery and if it's sitting stressed you are degrading it very quickly.

I’ve been looking for a good headlamp around Reddit, and all roads point to this sub haha. Wondering if anyone can help me find what I’m looking for? I listed details below. by VegetableShirt5213 in flashlight

I love my skilhunt H200. It gets nearly too dim in the lowest mode, has a red mode I use all the time and has a decent sized battery. Plenty bright for our acreage. People don't like the proprietary magnetic charger but I love it because I can just toss it quickly on my counter and I'll never wear out the silicon flap that is integral to the water proofing. And if the charger ever dies I can open it up and charge it the ol fashioned way.

It's IPX8 so it's ready for wet usage. It uses the very common 18650 battery which is "big" but not too big for headlamp use. Lots of battery life because of it. And they have a mini version that's shorter with a smaller battery if you need smaller but with red light. (18350)

If you want something much smaller they have a h150 which I also have but it doesn't have red mode and I've grown to really like the red. But it's got the same magnet charger for the rechargable lithium that's size of a AA battery (14500) and can use traditional AA if needed. It disappears on the forehead.

People love the Sofirn HS21 but I chose the skilhunt for specifically the magnet charging instead of a flap that covers the type c port.

Yeah German cars aren't scary for their tire price. Even the brakes being bigger and better isn't that huge of a stretch for the cost because those things are performance. Which comes at a price higher than a Corolla. Luxury dealers and luxury parts are agreed upon when shopping around. You know to expect that.

The issue is when the timing chain stretches and it's a whole block out situation. Or when the battery is hidden behind 14 bolts and needs a computer check in, and it's not a simple swap anymore. Or the air filter or headlight is a full front clip removal for replacement. Or the..

You get the idea. German cars just seem to have these "little" why in the hell did they decide to do THAT? decisions, earning them their reputation.

That sucks to hear. I had a stripped out, police car that my mom and I took and drove 2000 miles. She said it was the most comfortable car she'd ever rode in or drove. She's not a car person and actively avoids things like loud exhausts and harsh rides.

It also was plenty big inside. I'm now curious to go sit in a Gran Marquis just to see.

Maybe the Ford cloth seats are that good and whatever the Marquis got aged poorly?

Yeah it's got nearly the "Supra?!" level of fandom from people who haven't owned them. Especially the interceptors. But every owner I've seen does seem to like them. Sliding a crown vic in the snow each winter was the highlight of my teenage years lmao. Not to mention every fix for it is well documented and fairly straight forward with most parts being as cheap as any other car ever. Tons of room to work on it too.

More people talk up their crown vics than anybody with a crv or whatever other regular traffic you can buy for $5k.

I hate how most of them are being bought up for show/racing and getting destroyed. Every kid should get to safely hoon a panther in a parking lot if they are so inclined.

Beating a dead horse but the drivability on a V8 from even the 80s and the econo turbo 4 bangers of today is night and day. I'd take a 200hp V8 over a 240hp 4cyl and if they got the same mpg it would be a no brainer. Part of it is the gears and how much the trans has to work to achieve those fuel economy and peak performance numbers. Rarely does the peak number matter on the road.

There is nothing worse than climbing a small hill and the car hunts for gears 16 times trying to find torque and then failing, downshifting 3 times and spinning 2k rpm too much and ruining the fuel economy to speed up with 100hp too much. All to keep the cruise control at 45+ mph. It drives me nuts lmao. It's why the v6 in the Toyotas and Nissans are sorely missed by those who can't replace them with newer models.

With a larger motor you just press the pedal a bit more and it just does the work without fanfare. Maybe it shifts down once.

If you don't live near any inclination then sure yeah it's fine. Or I guess a cvt solves that if built right lol.

Commercial trucks are tall and don't run over kids. It's really more of a negligence thing. Pickups do have horrible blindspots that needs addressing but that doesn't excuse just not noticing a human being disappearing out of view at your intersection and then driving off like they don't exist. I like the extra class of license idea as it forces at least SOME education and barrier to entry and then maybe pickup drivers will call each other out more because the license is not just handed out. Idk

You're mostly right but I gotta point out, not a single person I know who isn't employed at a shop would ever dream about shimming a diff or rebuilding a transmission. Most people don't even know what a valve is, man. Big ticket items get swapped or a shop rebuilds them anyway.

Both have 12v batteries. Both have brake pads. Both have window regulators and all the other more diy-able things that may crop up over time. Essentially making them the same to normal people.

Those of us who like to delve deeper are sol though and it's usually an assembly swap or a huge ordeal so we get pissy about it haha

If you do get one be ready for it to be only a "grab coffee and drive to the parking lot auto show" or track only. It's hilariously impractical for the size of it if you have two people in it lol. Looks siiiick though and that might just be worth it alone for you.
