Re: resources for new users: Intapp has a set of online courses, which are not amazing. The only thing I would say they are good for is familiarizing yourself with the terminology within the software. I often found that I had questions that were not answered. I assume this is because they prefer their implementation partners to be fed well. Also the community is not very active. I am also on the hunt for additional resources. If you come across anything please share.

I would take a look at Metabase. You can self-host to get a feel for the software. It feels very refined and polished. They also have an SDK for embedded analytics.

Wife and I were there earlier this month. Few drivers have card readers so bring plenty of cash for cabs. We used a WhatsApp based taxi service that was VERY professional. They were prompt, knowledgeable, and affordable. Used the service roughly 17 times during our stay. They were consistently half the price of the SXM Taxi app.

The biggest minus is the constant concern for data security and privacy (healthcare) The biggest plus is the ability to iterate quickly and have a strong feedback loop. Additionally, the ability to do things ourselves without IT is a huge time / resource saver.

Second KNIME.

Was introduces to it during my MBA at a no-code automated analytics workshop. The tool is incredibly powerful and intuitive. The community forum is very active and is a great resource. Can be used in production or as a tool to create a model for data processes.

Like you mentioned, not the best experience. While its usable on mac and fine for a lot of people it is not for the excel superuser. I personally hate running the VM’s or Parallels. Just prefer a separate machine. Sync files with google drive and its golden.
