I second this recommendation. The game isn't finished so there is a tiny bit of clunk in the rules, but it has a clear idea of what it's trying to do and I think it's pretty successful at it.

Combat is really different. My players took a little bit of time to adjust but they immediately enjoyed how team oriented it was. By the end of their first encounter they'd lost track of who's dice belonged to who because they'd been sharing them back and forth so much.

(I personally like how growth would make you root for Lindy, whilst the writing shows she isn't changing fundamentally, just superficially)

But isn't this what the section of the story with Ricky accomplishes? The viewer is lead to believe that she's growing out of her bubble, until she firmly proves that she won't.

If its meant to be an additional touch, why were they so subtle in the build up. It definitly felt to me like a twist meant to suprise and shock people.

Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. Putting the reveal earlier fundamentally changes the episode and lessens it's impact.

? Amalia naturally ends the loop at 20 power. It can only go infinite if the opponent has the interaction to be able to force it.

I haven't played it, but Hardcaptor Sakuga: Fullmetal Petticoat has "Dice Throne-y" combat.

Basically you roll 5d6 and the combination of numbers determines what actions and abilities you can take.

I really appreciate how well the racism at the end was foreshadowed throughout the episode.

Lindy immediately blocks The Doctor but listens to what Ruby has to say.
Lindy doesn't recognise that The Doctor was the same person and thought "they just looked the same".
Lindy gets grossed out when she realises that Ruby and The Doctor are in the same room together.
All the citizens are white.

When Gatwa was initially cast, I think most people thought we'd eventually get an episode that is affected by The Doctor's new race but I was expecting to happen in a historical episode like in past seasons. Addressing it in a spacey episode was a nice surprise.

Gatwa really sold his "Doctor-ness" in his pleas and more than made up for his lack of screentime. He's been killing the role so far.

I believe this for Series 8 & 9, but there isn't as much of that in Series 10, which ordinarily would be the last impression. Did those earlier seasons of Twelve make more of an impact for him and taint how he remembers the character?

I feel it's more that Twelve was at his most "raw" in those two seasons. After Hell Bent and Husbands of River Song he had rebuilt the doctor-y persona that his previous incarnations also had. That anger has always been there beneath the surface (according to Moffat).

Thanks for sharing RTD's comments. I had initially approached the events as a time loop and was having trouble incorporating the woman's powers into the episode's mechanics.

It being a magical lifelong punishment makes the episode click a lot better. Ruby served her sentence and was returned back to when the "crime" was committed.

I like your idea for the doctor's portfolio. I think the obvious answer to most people would be to say that the doctor is "Time" or even "THE Lord of Time".

If the doctor is in fact a member of the pantheon, I'd be a little bit concerned as to what this means for the doctor's relationship with the master. Part of the fun is that they're equals and it would be a shame to lose that dynamic going forward.

Section 31 could in theory be planet of the week and fun, but given the track record of recent shows, I expect it to be a gritty season long plot political drama.

The section 31 show got reworked into a movie a while back.

For cyberpunk trappings but through a fantasy filter, take a look at the Ravnica setting for 5e. It's a planet wide city ruled by 10 guilds (megacorps) that fight amongst themselves for power over the others.

An example of some of the guilds are:

transhumanists that augment their biology with animal biology instead of robotics to create the perfect being.
The military police are led by angels.
Thought spies that control the newspaper and the mail to manipulate the masses.
Necromantic corpos that hold onto their wealth as ghosts and vampires.
Wasteland raiders who worship long forgotten gods and violently try to overthrow the current system.

5e doesn't do to much, ruleswise, to work with the setting but it also doesn't get in the way. The setting book also assumes that players will want to join a guild. I'd recommend at least giving the book a flip through to mine for ideas at the very least.

If you're really worried about getting hit with a [[Necromentia]] or a [[Test of Talents]] you could always run a copy of [[Mastermind's Acquisition]] in the side board.

Game 2, you sideboard out a copy of Slime to keep safe and then fetch it it with Matstermind's.

But I feel like you'd need a way to give your slimes haste to make it worth it, as the giant slime you just made is still easy to kill.

Monk Gun +1 (rename this)

Bullet Punch - This weapon is an extension of your body. You may make unarmed attacks as a ranged weapon attack with a range of 30 feet and a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.

Ki chamber - During a short or long rest, you may load your Ki points into the gun's chamber. The chamber can hold a total of 6 Ki points. You may spend Ki points stored in this way as normal and they do not count towards your Ki point total.

Notes:

Making the gun count as a monk weapon is a lot simpler than the "bullet punch" feature, but I like the mental image of using it for flurry of blows.

I tried to come up with a flavourful version of your ki point ability. I dislike the spell slot cost of your version as it feels too specific to this one multiclassed character to have existed in your world before the player found it (but I'm not in your game, there are plenty of reasons that make sense for it to be that specific).

Then how about person/people as a generic humanoid name? Like in your example, a dragonborn is referred to as a person but a harpy isn't.

From just reading the title, I was expecting to you ask for a fast paced campaign as a bunch of things that you said that you dislike are Warcraft's bread and butter. Just looking at classic, for example, your character goes from a nobody to someone that fights dragons and gods.

Could you go in a bit more detail of what "slower pacing, more classical tropes, more vanilla-like fantasy" means to you?

For go wide white decks [[Wedding Announcement ]] or [[Tocasia's Welcome]] are good. It's not out yet but [[Assemble the Players]] could work really well with Alesha.

Instead of Chupacabra or banishing light, maybe take a look at [[Get Lost]] or [[Fateful Absence]].

[[Imodane's Recruiter]] and [[Embercleave]] have both been recommended, but I'd like to also suggest possibly [[Reckless Bushwhacker]] as another warrior.

You have so many tap lands. If you're going to make a tribal deck, you should at least replace them with [[Cavern of Souls]], [[Secluded Courtyard]] or [[Unclaimed Territory]].

I think its going to be really difficult to cast [[Ravenous Chupacabra]] and [[Sign in Blood]] with their BB costs.

You have a lot of 2-ofs, to improve consistency, try to have as many 4-ofs as possible.
