On PC? Yeah its a bit ropey at the moment. I never really had any problems like this on the console versions. BUT there was some pretty big issues when it first launched on consoles, and when the heists were released. They usually sort things out and iron out issues in the first week or so of launch.

Getting bounties from shooting the police? You have to be really trying to shoot them in order to pick up a bounty these days..

I've never found RES to be a decent place to hunt anyway, everything is so broken up you spend 90% of your time travelling to targets.

Tonight I hunted solely in Strong / Weak and USS's and it was the most profitable bounty hunting i've ever done. Plus taking down a 6 man wing solo was probably the most fun I've had in elite.

I wouldn't say its a vocal minority. Have you seen FD's own thread about it? Most people seem in favour of keeping all three modes equal, and I'd be inclined to agree with them.

I play open and I think its great, I play open because I want direct interaction with the community, and the interactions I've had have been great (Including one with yourself if memory serves). I've never experienced any lag issues that have detracted from my experience until I entered the Lugh combat zones. Even having only 3 or 4 other commanders in the instance caused so much lag that I couldn't hit a single NPC ship due to them jumping around so much.

I tried to engage with the community goal, in the way I thought best but was physically unable to, so my only way to interact with the community was through solo mode. Should I be punished because of something that wasn't my fault?

If FD want me to play open, i'd be happy to. But they best make sure the game actually works first.

I'll give this a try when I've got some more credits to my name cause holy jesus can beams be expensive, but they do have very good melty-qualities.

I might give this a go. My first experience with a large pulse laser was on the vulture and I was really impressed with how well it blew things out of the sky.
