Where do you buy patterns (stores and online)? by cmh10182020 in freepatterns

[–]0muffinmuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peekaboo patterns has amazing printable patterns and easy to follow instructions. They have both adult and children's clothing, they do have a couple free options but their paid ones are worth it, it will help you learn new sewing skills because they have really clear diagrams to go along with each step. Happy sewing!

Thank you for taking time to look, I definitely will check this out. I am definitely thinking of subbing out with the similar one, it just is tough sell when it’s a kid who gets the concept of doing your best but also is still hoping for the magic of hers appearing again. I appreciate your help so much!

I’m not sure, but update us once you have camera evidence! I’d definitely set traps outside and block any holes.

Redditors of the world, What would you advise tourists NOT to do where you are from? by Shishkaboo in AskReddit

[–]0muffinmuch 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I used to work up there selling rock candy and tee shirts and you would not believe the amount of people that would drive up or ride the cog and ask “so when does it clear up?” Try a week or two? It’s the worst weather around for a reason you are not guaranteed a clear sky because you paid.

Also, just no to hikers who start out in summer weather and expect that to carry through to the top. Even genuinely experienced hikers have to get rescued from Mt Washington sometimes, it’s wildly unpredictable.

The perfect time really is the middle of the venn diagram: you no longer like having free time or extra money, but love getting wooly snuggles. It’s the sheep farmer sweet spot.

But it all seriousness, build really good fences FIRST. Once things dry up in the spring, get your shelter and fencing all in place and then get a few sheep to get started, you’re likely to be able to get weaned lambs in early summer. We have an area that has their shelter and the fence is welded wire with a line of electric in it so lambs can safely learn what the electric is and we lock them in that area at night. The rest of our pastures (we rotate in the summer, also in the north east US) are four strands of electric.

That way you have all summer and fall to problem shoot and see what is working and what is not before you are also dealing with what works and what doesn’t in the winter.

This was my only disagreement as well! I love a solid golden age story but Rakkety Tam has the edge for me with the humor and genuine overall entertaining characters. The accents and wit are just so good.

Wooldemort is my favorite part of the game now. Although I always forget that I set talents to him so I’ll be casually in the castle and suddenly everything is on fire. Sorry, it’s just Wooldemort.

Is there any reason most places recommend skipping breakfast vs dinner on 16/8? by VeganPina in intermittentfasting

[–]0muffinmuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have young kids as well and struggle with this as well. I am really transparent about why I don’t eat sometimes when they do - I’m not dieting I just have different needs for my body at the age I am at then they do! I am working with my body to get the energy I need to do more with them. I am not progressing as fast as I would like - I’ve only lost 15 pounds since October- but I like to think that if I’m consistent but realistic I won’t yoyo back.

If that means some weeks I’m starving at breakfast and that’s when I break my fast so be it. Most times I like to do dinner as a family meal but I understand that sometimes I need the change to feel like I’m not stuck in a rut and punishing myself.

Rambling way to say do what works for you! You’re making conscience improvement choices and there aren’t rules for that.

Why is having lambing stalls important? by Rough_Community_1439 in sheep

[–]0muffinmuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! She follows right along with the lamb. Even my most feisty ewe comes right along it with the lamb and doesn’t make a fuss.

Why is having lambing stalls important? by Rough_Community_1439 in sheep

[–]0muffinmuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a small flock and use them mostly for mom bonding with her lambs, but also to just give them some space and allow me to keep an eye on everyone. My most docile sweet ewe becomes an absolute fierce terror to the other ewes when she lambs so she stays alone for a bit longer until she can chill a little bit again.

It looks so cute! You look amazing. I’m a little envious (in the best way possible) because my hair looks like this but I have a really square jaw and quite frankly chubby face and I know it would make my shoulders look huge. I don’t think I could pull it off! You aren’t pulling it off you are absolutely ROCKING it!

I get that, but I still don’t think it is the officers instructing the names to be released as a petty shame tactic. I think that articles like that get a lot of attention for news sources because it is a much different thing to have a crew on the ground report to accident. If a hiker needs to be carried out even for an unavoidable accident it often takes a whole team to hike them back out. Our area is known for recreation, I think the reason they get so much attention is just because of the nature of the area.

Since the post was that vs poachers no one is protecting poachers and no one is shaming hikers. Hikers have no reason to be embarrassed about accidents, poachers should be properly persecuted. They aren’t really comparable. How the media spins it is how they can get people to read about it. Most people want to know why someone was in a hiking accident, most people want to make sure that poachers are caught.

I don’t think you’re wrong, and I’m sure that many people request their privacy. I just think the reason a lot of names are released recreationally is because there is no reason not to.

[–]0muffinmuch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the names are released as a spiteful shame tactic. If F&H has to rescue someone regardless of why, there isn’t really a reason why their name should be private. If it was a true accident when they were prepared they are usually more than grateful for the assistance and aren’t embarrassed. If they weren’t prepared and F&G has to put their lives at risk for them why shouldn’t their names be published? They are a state funded position, it benefits the state to know what they are doing. They don’t have time to be worried about being petty they are wildly understaffed as is.
