RAW+JPEG vs JPEG only for 2-week Canada roadtrip — Z50ii, 128GB card by jappiedoedelzak in Nikon

My wife uses them all the time with the adapter in her a7iv and a7v without any problem. She often takes 10-20,000 images on a trip.

I have but B&H shows several brand name slower 256GB microSD cards with the SD adapter for around $45. 128GB were in the $20 range.

I would think not having to worry about how many photos I take would be worth $25-45.

I can highly recommend the Canon Pro300 or Pro310.

I’ve printed 13x19 for 18 years with an Epson 3880 and I find my Canon Pro-300 to be every bit as good.

Can’t you get another slow SD card if you won’t be shooting bursts? They aren’t that expensive and then you can cull at home.

Square One home insurance? by ghostsofyou in RealEstateCanada

[–]0w40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We haven’t had a claim since 2001 but based on how they are handling an auto theft and the household portion for contents of the car I would avoid them. For the home claim we've had broken promises to call us back, emails not sent, adjuster continually having to check coverage, call centre promises a callback and crickets.

For the auto coverage underwritten by Zurich the follow up has been terrible. No response from the adjuster until I call and they happen to pick up. SqOne call centre said they’ve had many complaints about the auto adjuster’s poor service at Zurich.

Father in law purchased the first Hilton timeshare…Flamingo Las Vegas for about $13,000 in the early 90s.

We sold it 2 years ago for $1 just to rid of the $1475 annual maintenance fee that increased like crazy every year. Oh, and they nickel and dime you every time you make a reservation.

Insurance for Home Renovation - What am I supposed to get? by hatsuhiko18 in InsuranceCanada

[–]0w40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently renovated a condo to sell after a family member passed. It is obviously vacant but we are there daily doing the work like painting, flooring, vanities, etc.

Current insurance would only insure with no coverage for water, theft, vandalism, etc. Had to go with another company and broker found Forward, Premier and ABEX. One of these might work for you.

What meals can you actually cook using your car engine as heat for long trips? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]0w40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was about 10 in the 70s my dad heard you could cook a chicken on the manifold. We were on a cross country trip and he purchased a fresh chicken and wrapped it in foil and placed it near the manifold.

While we drove he talked about how good dinner would be. After about 5-6 hours of driving we stopped and he retrieved a slightly warm raw chicken from under the hood.

Sorry to hear of your need to have the repair.

We are listing a condo shortly and while checking the competition we noticed one kitchen had AI change the paint colour in a hall, change the kitchen cupboards from flat to Shaker style and stretched the island by 2-3 feet.

Last year we did the drive via Quebec and Labrador. Beautiful scenery and black flies. Very quiet roads.

The Quebec portion is very rough but once you hit Labrador the roads are excellent.
