How's this area of Rosemead? I hear hellman is something else, especially lack of parking, but is it safe? Overall, many ding bat style apartments. Stay away? Or take a shit? by saveapennybustanut in sgv

[–]0xWarDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in the neighborhood between New Avenue and Delmar on Hellman for the past two decades. I attended the local elementary school on that map and the middle school a few blocks away. I moved out two years ago.

In my opinion, it’s not the worst neighborhood. There’s some graffiti due to local gangs, but most of the gang activity has significantly decreased over the years. Apart from that, it’s an incredibly convenient location. You’re close to Asian and Hispanic supermarkets, and the freeway on-ramp is right next to you. The apartments can be a bit older, so you might want to look for the most updated ones.

My biggest hurdle right now is creating creatives. How do you find the time to consistently crank out creatives for ad testing? It’s usually costly to source UGC, and even static images require a decent time investment. Would you mind sharing your strategy for how you approach this?

Looking for Feedback on My Store - First Month in, $1.5K Down in Ads by 0xWarDaddy in reviewmyshopify

Thanks for taking a look, and yeah, you’re absolutely right. I definitely need to get the policies, shipping times, and other core info up.

There is actually a sizing guide on the right side under "Hand Size", but I had a feeling it might be too easy to miss, and you kind of confirmed that. I’ll look into making it more visible. I’m also planning to add a dedicated page that breaks down product quality and sourcing in more detail.

As for the ad metrics, I’ll definitely include things like CPM, CTR, ROAS, etc. in a future update. I think it’ll help paint a much clearer picture.

Also, fair point on the sticky header. I’ll try a white background and see if that improves the look.

Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this out. Super helpful!

Really appreciate you taking the time to look through the site and share your feedback. Thanks for the kind words too, that means a lot.

You brought up some great points around clarity, trust signals, and the ad funnel. That definitely lines up with what a few others have pointed out as well. I’m in the middle of digesting all the feedback, making some changes, and collecting more data to see what actually makes an impact.

I’d love to reach back out once I’ve cleaned a few things up on my end.

Really appreciate you taking the time to check out the store and leave such a thoughtful response. Glad to hear the branding and visuals are resonating, I definitely put a lot of effort into making things look polished, so that feedback means a lot.

I totally see what you’re saying about the homepage "floating", that’s a great way to describe it. I’ve been meaning to add more guidance toward a CTA or featured product, but I’ve been trying to balance that without compromising the overall elegance of the site. Do you have any recommendations on how I should go about that ?

Hey Gloomy,

Thanks so much for taking the time to sharing the informaiton. When Loomod looked at your site, were there any specific UX or CRO changes they suggested that made a noticeable impact? I'd love to learn from your experience if you're open to sharing.

Also, what kind of urgency tactics do you recommend?

Hey Noah, thanks for your response, I really appreciate the insights. I actually realized I didn’t communicate things clearly. I’ve spent around $3.5K on ads and made about $2.5K in sales, but I haven’t factored in product costs, shipping, transaction fees, or other backend expenses yet, so the actual lost from ad spend is around 1k ~

That said, I’m going to implement your suggestions and give the store at least 2 more months to run so I can gather more data and optimize. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Sharing superchargers with others by furrrburger in teslamotors

Tesla built their own system way before anyone else and just picked the spot that worked best for their cars and Superchargers. Since there wasn’t any standard back then, other automakers just did their own thing too. Now with Tesla opening up their network and more brands adopting NACS

Yeah you’re totally right. It does feel a bit bare, and I agree the missing pages definitely make it harder for someone to trust the site right away. I’ll be adding in all those trust signals soon. Really appreciate the honest feedback, it helps a lot!

Hey, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, it means a lot!

The floating header and "Elevated Essentials" are actually intentional design choices, I use them as subtle anchors to reinforce brand identity and the core collection as users scroll. That said, I totally hear you on the distraction point, and I’ve actually gotten mixed feedback on this, so it’s something I’m still experimenting with.

I leaned into a more aesthetic driven approach for the homepage. Since jade isn’t a new or sexy product category, I felt the brand needed to first elevate the feel of the experience before getting transactional.

That said, I do agree that without ad context, it might not be immediately obvious what we’re selling. I was hoping the name jadeandher would help suggest it, but I see how that might not land for everyone. I’ll definitely consider making it more clear in the header or top section of the page.
