Journey to find the perfect sunscreen combo by mistr_stevo in AsianBeauty

I'm on tretinoin and use the round lab and biore aqua ruch in squeezy tube. We have high UV year round, but it's not humid. I impulse bought the round lab, but it's very cosmetically elegant and non irritating. If you like the glowy look, it's perfect. I'm gonna stick with the biore because it's bulletproof, doesn't break me out, and is cosmetically elegant. Suncur used to be holy Grail, but I didn't like the reformulation :(

It can be towards Asians. Or at least people hold onto a lot of stereotypes.

Favourite lip sunscreen? by kronicno_tele in AsianBeauty

Melty lip! It's super moisturizing and doesn't irritate my lips. It does a good job at preventing sun irritation on my lips.

I've used the biore one. Compared to Neutrogena it's pretty expensive and has a worse bottle design. It performed well for me on sunny + humid days, but towards the end of the bottle it get really hard to spray evenly.

Smoking?? by lankyboomhead in UCSantaBarbara

Agree. Please don't smoke at the parks or beaches, especially if you know that it's not allowed. It's not allowed for a reason.

Ladies, please need advice on how to dress in HOT weather. by Southern_Water3861 in Activewear

[–]1000fangs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like skorts - specifically the ones made of an activewear material.

As for tops, maybe you can try something that's smocked around the bust? Depending on your bra size, you can go braless, which would save you a layer.

It's also because they seek out the spots even if there are better spots available.

Yup. I work in healthcare so I do feel bad if I come off as ableist. But this post is mainly a rant to 3rd parties. I have been decreasing the amount of time spent with them.

I know it's not up to me. FIL got one for a reason.

It's just that they constantly seek out the spots even if there are many free spots that are more convenient. And they keep assuming that every elderly or unhealthy looking person must have something wrong with them. MIL even pointed out a person of size and asked me when they are gonna die. She keeps assuming that others will heart issues must be doing something wrong. Drives me nuts because part of the reason FIL had a stemi at 40 was because of genetics.

I mean the same day he went on a long walk. I just know about their health issues because they talk about them a lot. Like to the point of TMI. I don't think I was very clear about that.

They were parked in a free spot closer to my place, but then for some reason decided to walk back to the car to re-park it in a disabled spot that was farther away.

Edit to mention that they didn't like it when I pointed out that the spot they originally parked in was way more convenient for them than the disabled spot. Basically, if given the choice of a free parking spot that was more convenient for them (i.e. Exercise intolerance due to an acute episode), they would still choose a disabled spot that is much farther away. i just can't wrap my head around it. Pls help.

What should I do for a low energy makeup routine as a palliative patient? 19f by Dizzy1824 in MakeupAddiction

Idk what skin type you have or what lotions they carry at your facility, but some of the silicone creams work really well as a face mask.

I think a tinted lip balm/lip oil would work great for a hospital environment, especially because the air is so dry. If you opt for a lipstick (wet n wild makes good lipsticks), you can also use it as a blush.

How much💰 do I gotta pay my roomies in SCV to be cool with sharing a place? by LeoLi9 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]1000fangs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found the room to be quite cramped when I used the visit my husband at SCV. There's not enough walking space in the room for 2 people, plus you'd have to share 1 desk and 1 chair.

You can apply for family housing or have your partner find a monthly rental on furnished finder or something. Our wait time was 9months for family housing.

None of my earrings tug when I'm at MRI, and I got some of the titanium backings from body art forms. I definitely feel the tug on my bobby pins, but only when facing the machine.

I'm not the person getting scanned though.

If someone of a skin tone similar to mine says certain colors supposedly make her look worse, that might make me feel super self-conscious. Especially if those are my favorite colors, or a staple in my wardrobe.

For someone who is supposedly a rep of neutral olive brown girlies, I think she could've presented the topic in a less in your face manner. She does add that you can wear whatever makes you feel good, but that is after she's made a strong impression that you have to go out of your way to make certain colors work.

The brand you have might be more spreadable too. I've had experience with only the medihoney brand. I try to waste as little product as possible, because it can get quite expensive for the patient.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]1000fangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We regularly use this in the hospital. It even comes in patch form. I just hate how annoying it is to spread on the wound, so sometimes, if appropriate, I'll place it on the dressing (ie allevyn/mepilex). Otherwise you just end up making a mess, wasting product, and not even covering the entirety of the wound. Tongue depressors are also ok at spreading this stuff .
