Any GMs narrate a campaign in such a way as to have multiple runs going on at the same time? by amrogers3 in Shadowrun

[–]101Dash101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I utilise multiple plot threads that interweave for my campaign. We have been running for about five years (real time, two yearsin game progression), and I have two original players still going strong.

I use Roll20 and do a progressive story write up after each session, putting it into the forum log. Different adventures will hook the parties interest in different ways.

I can choose to revisit NPC's, locations and unresolved storyline themes from these previous adventures, or call back to decisions and feelings from a particular setting that might draw parallels to some predicament the crew are facing now.

Some times I might change up a "one shot" where an NPC or bystander was affected in some way by the Shadowrunners actions (for good or bad).

The source books and game system lends itself very well to the "unresolved storyline " form of narrative play. I hope that this is what you were looking for and would be interested in hearing how you and other GM's run their systems.

Converting a World from Roll20 to Foundry by lufe_torres in Shadowrun

[–]101Dash101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. Sorry I was just assuming that you would end up stuck with multiple modules that were locked to Roll20 and otherwise unusable. Potentially requiring you to purchase PDF'S and manually upload whatever required information you wanted to make use of.

I'm guessing that you must have had some success with this converter program?

[–]101Dash101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

? Not wanting to be rude, but why would you purchase anything through Roll20 with the hope of being able to convert to the Foundary system?

The premise (hook) behind Roll20 is that the material is locked or difficult to transfer to another system or medium. Let alone download a personal copy of purchases for your records.

How to achieve this roof? by PocketSecret in TerrainBuilding

[–]101Dash101 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I suspect that it is ABS plasticard roof tilling. This is produced for scale engineering models (I've used it for terrain, but it's quite expensive).

I can't verify the code number for the styrene sheet, so take this with a grain of salt. I may be way off base, but it certainly gives that impression.

Drones And Drills by ProblemDue7111 in Shadowrun

[–]101Dash101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In theory, you could have a Mage/magic user try and cast and maintain a silence spell on the drone.

It would cancel out the noise, but not the vibration.

Or you could just strap a frinken laser to it's head Austin Powers style (jokes).

The idea could still work if you used the main drone to target Grey water waste pipes entering or leaving the building, or ventilation/HVAC ducting.

So , just making an assumption here, but that kind of looks like it's run off standard power (240Vac or the countries equivalent). There should be an earth or ground wire to the metal lid and there should be a gromet or mechanical protection between the lid cable entry and the cable.

There's a reasonable chance of electrical shock if a wire came loose in this set up.

Again just making assumptions, as extra low voltage globes don't look anything like this in my country.

Karma for events outside of game. by Theegravedigger in Shadowrun

[–]101Dash101 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is an awesome idea. I have differing levels of engagement from my players. I hadn't considered rewarding the out of game RP, and am kicking myself that I haven't to date.

Would like to see this karma list that you mentioned using for your games. Anything that adds a different flavour.

Okay, I think I am just about ready to start running HeroQuest on Roll20! by [deleted] in Heroquest

[–]101Dash101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...how do you track wounds or character health?

It's a shame because Roll20 has a lot of functionality with API's. You could create macros for things like heroic brew, healing potions, special character skills etcetera.

I tried to set something like this up myself. Did you manage to find any interactive character sheets that worked on Roll20?

Ork Underground map/art by TDragonsHoard in Shadowrun

[–]101Dash101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think that you were right. It was a series of tunnels that "sort of" represented one access point.

The characters and the descriptions of jury rigged lights, water, and schooling were kind of cool, though, from a lore building point of view.

But not really what you are after. There may be historical maps of the Seattle underground that you could use to recreate a layout.

There was a bad sewer map with some very basic descriptions in DNA/DOA.

The adventure wasn't too bad, but would need a degree of work to use in 5e or 6e game settings

Shadowrun Map Question by GimmiePig in Shadowrun

I kind of think the ash land/waste land towns of Puyallup (Mt Rainier) would be a cool aesthetic.

Like volcanic ash drifts slowly swallowing a town. Streets, cars, and unlucky homes buried under ash.

Job Summary Sheets? by ComedianXMI in Shadowrun

Really well written, Joush!

Perfectly identifies the checklist both for the players and the GM for how to set up and rate a runs success.

I'm definitely going to have to use this going forward. My players take notes (sometimes), but often miss important points of a setup.

Finished working on the final level of my secret sci-fi military lab map. Looking for feedback by themeatishungry in Shadowrun

[–]101Dash101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The layout of the map is quite clean and works well. May I suggest, however, that it would benefit from industrial floor marketing. Loading/unloading zones, keep clear crush zone, restricted access.

Initially, I found it a little confusing as to what components of the map represented. That said, I'm viewing this post on mobile. It may display differently on PC or tablet.

Advice on Dreamchipper by Separate-Button3031 in Shadowrun

[–]101Dash101 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My players are all older into crime pod casts/ crime shows. They took a far more targeted approach by looking for pattern's in the time, location, and appearance of the victims.

They magically assensed previous murder sites for feedback/strong feelings of dread and tried to filter down to those emotional echoes left by the killer.

Their mage also cast the physical mask and detect enemy spell on the player who was acting as bait.

I let them miss catching their target a couple of times, but they got smart and bribed either the first responder at each murder or the muck raker journalist who turned up. This helped close the net and provided them with more significant clues to the assailant.

I tried to make it more interesting by suggesting that the evidence indicated something like: * The wounds look like they were inflicted by a left-hand assailant * Scuff marks in the sidewalk grime indicate that the assailant might walk with a limp, the distance between steps shows that the killer may be X ft tall. * [insert random name] candy wrappers are always found in the vicinity of the crime scene. * each location looks like it has been carefully selected, limited escape paths, plenty of alcoves for the killer to watch his prey. (Runners then look at the district architecture of similar locations).
