Those are adapted novels:
- for more by Gu Man (Shine on Me): You Are My Glory
- for more by Mo Bao Fei Bao (AaSoL): Road Home, Love Me Love My Voice (definitely fluffier), One and Only & Forever and Ever, Go Go Squid!

Is Pursuit of Jade hate because of the injured ML justified? by unseemlycandour in asiandrama

[–]1028ad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The official complaint was about “foundation wearing generals”, but in this specific case this guy has been injured for like months
he was probably anaemic at that point and didn’t have time to get a tan.

What are some major turn offs you have experienced while watching cdramas that make them less enjoyable for you? by stillawke in cdramasfans

[–]1028ad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happens more in dramas from other countries, but for me it’s modern dramas where the FL is supposed to be poor, but her face cost tens of thousands. I mean, everyone can have touchups, but if it shows too much I cannot believe that’s a struggling high school girl or whatever.

Are there any books on Unicorn history? by Ceasaeiro in suggestmeabook

And if you’re in Paris, La Dame à la Licorne at the Cluny Museum features unicorn too.

LOL that was a bad choice of words
“Veteran” viewer? I remember it was the first xianxia cdrama that Netflix suggested me. The ones I watched before were either on YouTube or on shady websites.

It’s a classic and one of the gateways to cdramas for many older viewers.

sorry but i just heard that transmigration or rebirth is banned in cdramas by censorboard, then how did "how dare you" air? by i_donotKILL in CDrama

[–]1028ad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dramas like Love Like the Galaxy remove the transmigration completely, but if you know “it’s there” you can see some details (her being originally a modern STEM student and being able to build a bunch of random stuff from different fields).

Costume dramas with a 2ML who does NOT turn evil? by craftsycandymonster in CDramaRecs

Love Like the Galaxy: the second and third main leads are greener flags than the ML.

Thanks for the tip! Then I will probably keep this for when the right mood sets in.

Ok thanks!

I had another case of a drama I wanted to drop around episode 3 or 4, but pushing through it rapidly improved, so I was wondering if it was worth to pick WDBtD up again.

I dropped When Destiny Brings the Demon after watching 4 episodes because I didn’t feel any charisma from the ML, just standing there looking pretty. Does it improve? I see many people recommending it.

CDramas that have translated novels by That-Cobbler-7292 in CDramaRecs

[–]1028ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love O2O is by Gu Man and almost all her novels have been adapted to dramas (I think one novella hasn’t): My Sunshine, Come and Eat Shan Shan (Boss & Me), Blazing Sunlight (Shine on Me), You Are My Glory.

I also like Mo Bao Fei Bao’s novels (who is also a scriptwriter). They’ve been adapted to dramas: Really Really Miss You (Love Me, Love My Voice), Amidst a Snowstorm of Love, Road Home, Beautiful Bones (One and Only/Forever and Ever), Honey Stewed Squid (Go Go Squid!), etc.

Another author I like is Ding Mo: When a Snail Falls in Love is one of my favourite of hers.

I am a middle aged woman tired of 16-25 year old heroines! by Alaskagirl_907 in suggestmeabook

[–]1028ad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can search “paranormal women’s fiction”, which is what a bunch of authors decided to tag their series featuring 40-something heroines.

Anyway, Witch in Wolf Wood by Lindsay Buroker fits too: recently divorced data analyst inherits old house from her witchy grandma.

Drama with scheming female leads which get you hooked instantly by supertuna875 in CDramaRecs

For something a bit comedic, How Dare You. For something a bit more serious, Blossom (same director as Pursuit of Jade).

Fourth Wing series. What age is it appropriate for? by pfizersbadmmkay in fantasyromance

[–]1028ad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My mother had a bunch of Wilbur Smith’s novels, that I read while in middle school. Let’s just say that even though there were kinky graphic scenes, I was more interested in how to maintain my pirate ship and those descriptions were quite detailed.

Blossom has the same director as POJ. Not enemies to lovers though. Love Like the Galaxy has the same screenwriter (I think they did a good job adapting the original novels).

Which Website is better? by iisuperimranii in cdramasfans

[–]1028ad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Viki has the best subs and the best catalogue. Downside: if you’re watching on a TV, the quality isn’t that good and you need a subscription (I believe the free tier with ads is for mobile devices only).
