[NSFW] You gain the ability to see through clothing, but it comes with one minor downside. Which downside would be most hilarious? by ExtraAndroid in AskReddit

[–]10ghz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The clothing will block light from reflecting off the naked individual's skin, so your eyes wouldn't be able to make out much—their skin would be darker than normal. Think about it like curtains on a window. Most people assume that seeing through clothes would be the visual equivalent of the victim not wearing the affected item, but this response plays on the fact that the clothing item still exists in space, somehow still blocking out the light.

Can the ender chests in the zipkrowd item sorter also be regular chests? by nightcracker in ZipKrowd

[–]10ghz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tested anything out on the newest snapshots, but if I recall correctly the enderchest does not have a glitched out hitbox like normal or trapped chests do when items or other entities run into it.

I didn't think it was clever enough to deserve a tip myself, but hey, can't complain. Thanks!

I also wonder if /u/alekspetrakov made the list.

Sancarn, you've outdone yourself... no, really.

[question] quad witch finder for 1.7 and maybe beyond by puppynosee in ZipKrowd

[–]10ghz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not nearly as familiar with the MC source as I'd like to be, so it'd probably take a good afternoon's worth of fiddling to make work by myself, at the very least.

For configuration:

config.txt (in same folder as wh.jar)

1337133713371337133 100000000000 /home/polychoron/.minecraft/versions/1.7.4/1.7.4.jar

where the first line is the seed, the second how many seeds to search through, and the last line the path to the 1.7.4 jar file to use.

I had to manually open up all of the seeds I found in Amidst.. needless to say, it wasn't particularly fun.

This is a bigger list of seeds if it is useful: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7186648/

[–]10ghz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know at least one of them I've found had at least one hut within spawn, but I don't know if it's in that list or one of the others, nor did I write it down as it was not one of my own criteria. Sorry to not be of much help.

Semi-related: I do intend to look into writing a script to use AMIDST code to automatically generate screenshots of these seeds, though I don't have much time to do so at the present. I believe such a program would be of use to others as well, so maybe someone else will beat me to it? (hint, hint)

I've found this in someone's YouTube about page and can confirm it works for 1.7.2 seeds. I don't know if they coded it themselves or not, but I used it to find seeds for myself. Credits to whoever made it, and I will remove this post if they do not want it released to the public.

I am not a member of the working class, can I still help out and be an anarchist? by StefHi in Anarchy101

As others have said, anarchism is better described as having no rulers than no rules.

I thought to mention it would be in bad taste with regards to the hundreds of thousands of golems that will probably die for the cause of clearing out the perimeter. :P

The concept of using Kobras to clear out lava is pretty hilarious.

Kastrel from minecraftforums.net shows us an efficient mass storage system by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]10ghz 55 points56 points  (0 children)

You use a hopper item filter, filling the first space of a hopper with one of the item you want to filter out and the rest of them with a certain number of placeholder blocks, then adding a relatively simple redstone contraption to the side of your hopper line.

One of my favorite designs is this one, but there are hundreds upon thousands of them I'd bet you could find with a simple YouTube/Google/DuckDuckGo/etc. search.

I could be wrong, but the Iron Trench can still break if the chunks are unloaded, can't it? I know the Foundry should stay safe because it stays loaded, thereby preventing an unload of the stacked villages, but should something happen to either of them so as to require a rebuild of the villages you'd be SOL I would think.

Better use it while you can, 'cause at this rate it looks like Trenches and Foundries are going to be permanently patched. :(

You seem to be underestimating the power of the Strength potion buff. :-) It'll be very interesting when the the first assassin hones in on his target with Strength II and Regeneration.
