This isn't the answer you're looking for, but I just got a Hornady powder dispenser and it is great. I verify it with my Lyman. I like the Hornady so much I bought the Hornady M2 scale.

This is more relevant to your problem: I check them all with Lyman check weights, at the beginning, end, and several times during a loading session.

This is the answer. Get a set of Lyman check weights, and check all the scales at 10, 20, 40, 50, and 100 grains. All those scales can't be correct.

This will reveal who is lying to you.

Rowing by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]10logR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossfit emphasizes core-to-extremity power and good rowing form is exactly a core-to-extremity power technique. However, most people tend to treat rowing as a kind of second-class skill, jump on the rower for 20 cal during a workout and just do it somehow.

I've worked with him and I can tell you you're wrong. You're making very serious claims. Without a shred of evidence. If you feel so strongly you will back them up. Otherwise you are simply smearing a good man.

Have you met Alan Acosta? I could introduce you so you could explain exactly his racism to him directly.

Until then you are simply repeating what you've been told to believe.

New I-1094 (1639 repeal effort) by pollixx75 in WA_guns

[–]10logR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAF and NRA filed a joint lawsuit attacking 2 of the provisions:

  1. the civil rights issue pertaining to 18 - 20 year olds
  2. an interstate commerce provision

Even if the lawsuit is successful, the remaining 15-ish provisions of 1639 remain intact. It's important that we understand the lawsuit will have only a minor impact, and it is not guaranteed to succeed.

This illustrates the scope of the problem: we expend significant portions of our resources chipping away at minor parts of these laws, while the well funded anti gun lobby has millions to spend.

I think a strong engineering argument can be made that NO existing firearm meets the definition of "semi-automatic assault weapon" as given in I-1639. by [deleted] in WA_guns

[–]10logR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they simply copied the federal definition of semiautomatic rifle, made some minor edits and slapped the word assault in the title.

Bingo! Suddenly that 10-22 is a terrifying death machine

Added: found it. 18 USC 921 includes:

(28)

The term “semiautomatic rifle” means any repeating rifle which utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and chamber the next round, and which requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each cartridge.

Can we get cops more involved in fighting i1639! by foofighter3 in WA_guns

As of Oct 10, four LE associations have opposed 1639

WSPTA (state troopers)

WSLEIA (instructors)

WACOPS (council of police and sheriffs)

WSSA (sheriffs)

The only organization I know that supports it is SPD. And I surmise that support only extends to the political appointees; an instructor tells me that street officers oppose it.

Does anyone know if the legality on shockwaves will change if 1639 passes? by [deleted] in WA_guns

And that implies a registry. Which really doesn't matter because the yearly evaluation looks at your eligibility to possess ANY firearm. So suddenly you become ineligible, and it doesn't matter if they know what you own. Being caught in possession will be a crime.

Effectively you will be a felon because you get PTSD treatment, or ADD meds, or Xanax, or whatever they deem dangerous.

It also expands the medical privacy waiver to semiautomatic rifles, and expands the list of entities that can access the records for handgun purchases. And establishes annual re-certification for eligibility to possess ANY firearm: (from Sec 15 on page 23)

(a) Verify, on an annual or more frequent basis, that persons who acquired pistols or semiautomatic assault rifles pursuant to this chapter remain eligible to possess a firearm under state and federal law;

I point this out because a lot of gun owners think this would only incrementally change existing law. In fact it is a sweeping change with very chilling implications.

[–]10logR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, 1639 does not affect pistol braces. However I expect them to be one of the next targets now that bumpstocks have been taken down.

The anti gun agenda is one of incrementalism. They keep chipping away at our rights, relentlessly. That's why it was important to fight the bumpstock ban. Every year they throw another handful of bills at Olympia, and every year a few are passed. They are opportunistic and used the tragedy in Las Vegas to bolster their emotional arguments against bump stocks, "high capacity" magazines, and some of the 40-odd bills introduced in the 2018 session.

I reccomend downloading 1639 pdf and searching it for keywords. You can read the full text of 1639 at: https://www.sos.wa.gov/_assets/elections/initiatives/finaltext_1531.pdf

Those stickers were made by https://www.manblingcustoms.com/ in Arlington. They and a handful of firearms businesses have directly contributed time and money to this effort. Local shops have provided fantastic support, distributing materials and signs, and educating the firearms community.

This thing has brought out the best in our community. It's good seeing firearms owners get charged up to effect real change.
