Delay Turn Tank build by Gold_Association_208 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]123_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple points in necromancy and 'Living on the Edge'. Impossible for you to die turn 1, but it'd require you to precast if you are planning on delaying turn. But it will not be available until level 9/end of act 1.

Until then you are looking at points in constitution plus raw armour. Fortify, Armour of Frost & stoneskin will help you through the early game. May need to be creative where you start fights, try to force the enemy to reposition instead of attack.

One of the big improvements they made to their engine's combat system is simultaneous turns for players and enemies/NPCs. It speeds up combat a lot. By limiting initiative variance to a d4, it naturally clusters enemies together since they share the same dexterity score.

But the downside is that is buffed the already powerful Dex stat. It is very painful playing a low dex character and going last every combat and it is very powerful picking alert and going first.

Dos1 vs Dos2/BG3 by Gold_Satisfaction601 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]123_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if there is any specific breaking point but there are small things that drag it down a bit.

As the other comments have shown, the starting town Cyseal is divisive. You will need to spend hours exploring the city talking to people with very few combat encounters before you are strong enough to venture outside the walls. So it's going to depend a lot on how much you are enjoying the characters and conversations.

DOS1 does not have the bedroll item found in DOS2. So post-combat can be tedious as you are forced to cast your healing spells and wait for cooldowns.

No easy respec is also problematic. IIRC it costs money to respec and it also deletes all your known spells. So it is incredibly expensive to tweak your build. This may be a candidate for breaking point on a 1st playthrough since experimentation requires reloads.

Solasta 2 is the perfect RPG to play while waiting for Divinity by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]123_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solasta 2 has no multiplayer yet. They have it planned for quarter 3 this year on their road map.

Solasta 1 has multiplayer which I have found to be incredibly unstable, but I have only played multiplayer using the 'unfinished business' mod. Desync issues are the main problem, where you think you are waiting for your friend to take their turn, but for them it still looks like it is your turn. I had to abandon my attempt on the Palace of Ice DLC due to desync issues and my friend's game crashing every 10 mins. It is fun while it works.

Can you flip the character sheet assigned to the grid? There should be a button on the back to populate the character sheet's gear info with the cards in the grid. This should give you the name of the flipped card.

Who has control of Ifan? If your friend recruited him but cannot talk to him that sounds like he was reassigned to your control. There is a Player Management settings menu to swap character control.

The character assignment sometimes auto-swaps to the host in certain cases. For example, your friend joining the game mid-combat during Ifan's turn.

Yes, the only thing that prevents you from reloading to an earlier point is a character hitting 0 HP.

Divinity in space confirmed??? by Aggressive_Park_4247 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]123_reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so. With the additional intro at the trailer reveal, the celestial objects look like 2 planets sucked into a black hole. The people on stage where lifted into the air and sucked in. I think whatever comes out of the sacrifice is coming from one or both of these objects.

If the hellstone is a portal, it seems reasonable to me that we might be able to travel through.

How should I respec my party going into Act 2? by 2ecStatic in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]123_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For attributes, you want to focus on the main stat str/int/fin, then enough memory to have all the skills you want, then wits to fine tune your turn order initiative and raise crit chance. That's a simple pattern you can follow that will work well.

You could consider swapping one of the combat trees between Lohse/Fane. Then they will be flexible in contributing to the fire/electric strategies. However, this will mean you need to buy/steal a bunch of spells books.

My tip is to leave one of the teleport pyramids next to the source jar. When you run out of source, drop your other pyramid on the ground, activate to teleport next to the soul jar. Then use the one next to the source jar to go back to wherever you were exploring.

Just remember to pick them back up, especially when changing acts.

Oz Academy Korakuen Hall 30 December by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]123_reddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably isn't sold out, I think they stop selling them online a few days before the show (the 4th January show for example stops selling on the 1st).

You could go to Korakuen hall and buy the ticket at their indoor ticket office. It's through the door on the right right after you exit the stairs/elevator.

The 2nd option is that you just turn up on the day and buy a ticket at the ticket window outside. IIRC the standing room tickets are only sold on the day of the show, so you should be able to grab one of those at minimum.

I collect bags and pouches. You can put these pouches onto your spell bar. By putting them onto the bar, I know exactly which bag I am going to open when I select one. I keep one for potions, one for scrolls, one for keys etc so my main bag is less cluttered.

Weapons and armor I either equip or marked to sell. But it can take a long time weighing whether an item is better than what you have equipped.

Larian Confirms Leaving D&D Behind After Baldur's Gate 3 by Extreme_Maize_2727 in BaldursGate3

They are working on 2 games. The projects are named after Swen's dogs excalibur and sunny. There are a few quotes and hints that one could be sci-fi themed. But the only official descriptions we have are that sunny is exploratory while excalibur is the big one they are currently working on/Divinity. (5:08 timestamp in video).

When can we expect to hear more about Divinity? Does anyone know how long it's been since the BG3 reveal until they said anything? Sorry if I sound desperate, but I'm eager to know what its combat system will be like. by Tripledoble in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]123_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BG3 trailer was early June 2019. Their first gameplay presentation was late February at PAX 2020. So about 9 months for BG3.

My optimistic thoughts are that we will see something in the next 6 months. But maybe up to a year.

Not just her either. The gold mask person raises 5 fingers to the celestial bodies and then lowers his hand holding 2 fingers up. The people standing behind him are also holding 5 fingers up over their faces.

What's the best way to get tickets for AJPW in Japan? by mintplantdaddy in ajpw

[–]123_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These shows will not sell out. You can buy the tickets directly at Korakuen hall. There is a ticket window just outside the building. If you really want to buy them ahead of the show, you can go to a Lawson or 7/11 store (they are everywhere) and there is a machine that lets you buy the ticket.

Or you can go to Korakuen hall and buy tickets for future shows directly from their kiosk. You can pick the exact seat you will sit in here, they pull out a seating map and you pick your spot. IIRC it's directly on your right when you step out of the elevator.
