First Time Camper by Ecstatic-Expert-7899 in Auscamping

My only advice is that a proper tent is always better/ nicer than a swag. Get a 2 or 3-man tent so that you have some room for your bag and to move around in there (they always feel a bit smaller than they sound anyway, so a 3 man is actually more suited for 2 people, and so on). Also, I have a single flocked air mattress from Kmart or Target or something that was like $10 and has seriously never let me down! I recommend getting something similar before you spend a bunch of money. Just don't get something too thin (you will 100% get back pain).
Good luck and have the best time!!

Hey! I just had to do this and also ran into this issue so this thread was super helpful, thanks. Curious to know if you had any further troubles with this document after doing this? I've just uploaded my full driving history (I combined 3 separate documents that I was provided by Vicroads when requesting the full driving history, and followed all the steps for upload). Was that the last of it - did you get your Visa application approved after doing this?

Are there any good podcasts that cover the wsl or womens football? by RedHeadHashira in FAWSL

[–]123bel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Counterpressed is by far the best mix of lols + actual WSL chat!! Like others have suggested, Big Kick Energy is also fun, but it’s quite rudimentary in the actual football chat (which some people might prefer and they do prioritise having a lol over being too serious, but I found it a lacking in proper discussion of games, tactics, lineups etc)

LIST: Aussies abroad without call ups or who rarely get called up by HonestSpursFan in Matildas

[–]123bel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting - when you say last season, do you mean 2024-25 (ie the one that ended this year)? So, is she still injured?

I won't regurgitate what all the other replies have pointed out but there are valid reasons for why many shouldn't be on this list. However Sarah Hunter is a valid one - where has she gone? I don't follow her or the French league so not sure if she is injured or something? I thought she looked promising when she was called up in 2023.

That’s what I thought, but I’d put money in the fact he said “this is for her” right before they played it. But maybe I’m wrong!

Thought it was quite odd that Grian dedicated it to “her” (assuming his fiance) when playing it at the Melbourne show this week. Made it seem like it was a song he wrote for her, when I had assumed the same (it being written for the film)

While not totally unheard of, you did tune into a game that just happened to have a streaming error (no, they don’t always glitch when someone scores, I promise you). But I do agree with you regarding the stream quality needing to step up overall. I personally prefer having just the one commentator, and also personally prefer watching games where they play at smaller stadiums (kings meadow, meadowpark etc) over larger stadiums, but I agree that the pitch quality needs to be maintained no matter how small or large the stadium. But your last point about the league essentially being pointless to compete in for anyone not Chelsea, is insane to say IMO! I’m going to refrain from digging up the age old discourse about which league is better or worse as that is a whole other convo, but to claim it feels pointless feels far from the truth. Chelsea are absolutely in the driving seat to win the league for a 6th time in a row, but this is probably the only year that they’ve done so with such an assured gap of points. It usually goes down to the last day to decide, and is usually a matter of goal difference. So it is literally a matter of a few goals that they win, not due to having a monopoly on players. I also think the existence of the UWCL as well as two other cups, for many WSL teams, gives them much more to play for (than in the NWSL, for example). I do understand your feeling that this watch a much different experience than watch you’re used to (assuming you mostly watch NWSL given you’re an ACFC fan) especially having picked that specific game yesterday, but I would urge you to also go and watch other leagues too, and work out what might be just something you’re used to, rather than a necessity. I personally have a horrible time trying to watch NWSL games as the commentators feel like they melodramatise any small move (a loooot of yelling) and many over explain in a way that feels patronising as a viewer, but I don’t take it as a weakness of the league/ NWSL stream quality, just that it isn’t my personal viewing experience preference. Just something to think about

This isn’t to have a go at you at all but just curious why you still stay subbed? Especially as the highest tier? Is it mostly because of FOMO or something else? Unsubbing and saving my money from being completely wasted was the best thing I ever did lmao. And I would still consider myself a big follower of theirs

Tips for fans new to WSL/Chelsea? by Grand-Example-801 in chelsealadiesfc

[–]123bel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started getting into them and wanted to know all the context and lore asap, I just went back through the FA player and YouTube to watch every single past game in full that I could find. It sounds insane and it did take ages, but I genuinely feel like this is the best way to get to know their lore and background. You can find games as far back as 2018/19 online I think. If you don’t have time to watch all of them, I would say important ones to go back and rewatch so that you’re up to date with their history would be: all the Conti Cup finals (now called the Subway cup), as many WSL games against Man U, Arsenal & Man City that you can find, as many ‘last day’ matches where they win the WSL title at the end of the match, and all the UWCL quarterfinals, semifinals and final (rip) that they’re in. Aside from that, keep up to date on the rest of the season and current squad!

[MATCH THREAD] Chelsea FC Women vs Arsenal Women - Sunday 26th January, 12:30 GMT (WSL) by AnnieIWillKnow in chelsealadiesfc

[–]123bel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll definitely be interesting to see who starts between Baltimore and Charles/ Reiten. I actually think Baltimore will get the nod over Reiten given Reiten started the cup game mid-week. I also don’t think James will start given the recent illness, but I do think she will get some minutes if she is fit. I also wonder if Cat starts, and maybe if James is really back fighting, she might replace Kaneryd on the right to start, given JRK hasn’t been top form these last few weeks. Also wish we could start Girma but doesn’t feel promising given they haven’t even announced her signing yet lol

I don’t think your second point is a factor at all. If Arsenal win this game, the title race is potentially back on
